Diesel Locomotive ALCO C420
In 1963 ALCO Products Co. Introduced onto the market a new series of diesel locomotives named "Century". These Locos had a varied spectrum of engine sizes from 2.000 to an incredible 5000 Hp.
The Alco "Century" 420 with 2.000 HP had as power plant a 12 Cy V aligned cylinder at 45° 4 stroke, which gave it a top speed of over 110 km/h. At full load the Loco weighed in at 109 t and its fuel tanks held over 750 litres of fuel.
This Alco locomotive proved very versatile, and wad adaptable to all types of duties, on any route. It was used both as a shunter, and as a normal loco on passenger or goods service.
