God In The City

I don’t need no feelings

I don’t have anyone to show them to

I don’t need no schools

‘cause every night I watch the MTV news

I’ve got my TV-set

So I don’t need no church

I don’t need any institutions to pray

And all them churches are empty anyway

Even God live in those blocks of flats in the city

We don’t need no feelings

We got pills

All we seem to need is

Deathlike thrills

We are not the only ones

Gone astray

Haven’t you heard that even God

Lives in the city today

This is what I’m used to

I don’t know what I could be missing

So doesn’t bother me

I’ve learned to love what I got

I live in steel and concrete

What more could a man ask

What could it be?

I’ve learned to love what I got

So nothing bothers me!
