Nome Botanico: Trollius.

Famiglia: Ranunculaceae.

Breve Descrizione: Pianta perennante per mezzo di gemme situate a livello del suolo; l’asse fiorale è allungato con poche foglie. Il fusto eretto e semplice nasce dal breve rizoma. Le foglie basali sono a disposizione alterna, lungamente picciolate. I fiori sono solitamente solitari e alla fine del fusto. Il colore va dal giallo all’arancio, ma possono arrivare fino al porporino, o al lillacino o al biancastro.

Durata: Perenne.

Periodo Di Fioritura: Tra primavera ed estate.

Area Di Origine: Nord America e Asia.

Clima: Temperato fredde.

Uso: Alcune specie sono usate come piante ornamentali grazie al grande fiore brillantemente colorato. Sono rustiche e di facile coltivazione. Hanno tuttavia il difetto di essere avari di semi (nascono male e in modo discontinuo), per cui devono essere moltiplicate agamicamente (in autunno o in primavera). Tutte le specie sono velenose : è noto che il bestiame “sapientemente” evita di cibarsene. Sono usate come cibo solamente da alcuni lepidotteri.

Brief Description: Perennial plant by means of buds located at ground level; the floral axis is stretched with few leaves. The erect stems from the simple and short rhizome. The basal leaves are available alternate, petiolate. Flowers are usually solitary and the end of the stem. The color ranges from yellow to orange, but can reach up to purple, or lillacino or whitish.

Climate: Cool temperate.

Use: Some species are used as ornamental plants due to the large brightly colored flower. They are hardy and easy to grow. However, they have the disadvantage of being stingy with seeds (born evil and discontinuously), for which they must be multiplied agamically (fall or spring). All species are poisonous: it is known that the cattle "wisely" avoid eating them. They are only used as food by some moths.
