Breve Descrizione: Albero a foglie decidue che raggiunge i 5 metri di altezza. Sono piante a crescita veloce, presentano foglioline alterne, sottili, di forma lanceolata, finemente seghettate , con fitta pelosità seriacea e di colore argenteo sulla pagina inferiore. Sono piante dioiche, pertanto, le infiorescenze femminili e quelle maschili crescono su esemplari diversi. I frutti sono capsule a due valve.

Durata: Perenne.

Periodo Di Fioritura: Da febbraio in poi.

Area Di Origine: Europa, Asia e Nord America.

Clima: Temperato.

Uso: Come pianta ornamentale nei giardini o per decorare grandi vasche, stagni e le rive dei corsi d'acqua. I vinchi vengono impiegati in agricoltura per legare le viti, mentre i vincastri sono utilizzati per realizzare cesti, stuoie, oggetti vari.
