Breve Descrizione: Le piante di questo genere possono arrivare fino a 3 metri di altezza. Non hanno una forma biologica prevalente: possono essere sia emicriptofite che geofite, alcune specie sono anche annuali. L'habitus può essere sia glabro che coperto di peli irti. In alcune specie si possono avere da 1 a 15 fusti fioriti per pianta. Questa pianta presenta foglie ovali-oblunghe, quelle superiori sono cordate ed abbracciano il fusto. Le infiorescenze a capolino, dal disco bruno, hanno le ligule gialle o con sfumatore porpora.

Durata: Perenne o annuale a seconda della specie e della coltivazione.

Periodo Di Fioritura: Da giugno a ottobre.

Area Di Origine: Nord America.

Clima: Tropicale.

Uso: Alcune specie hanno delle proprietà medicinali o sono usate in cucina, ma fondamentalmente le piante di questo genere sono impiegate nel giardinaggio. Se messe in zone soleggiate o parzialmente ombreggiate su qualsiasi tipo di terreno crescono bene senza grandi problemi. L'effetto migliore si ottiene producendo delle grandi macchie decorative in giardini ampi e piuttosto rustici. L'uso delle “Rudbeckie” nel giardinaggio risale a diversi secoli fa, infatti la Rudbeckia laciniata fu importata dall'America settentrionale nel 1640, mentre la Rudbeckia hirta venne introdotta in Europa nel 1699. Il mercato floristico di queste specie si è notevolmente arricchito con l'introduzione di diverse cultivar che con opportune selezioni ha prodotto alcune specie a fiori multipli ed eleganti colorazioni.

This plant has leaves ovate-oblong, the upper ones are roped and embrace the stem. The inflorescences peeps, from the hard brown, have the ligule yellow or purple discoloration.

Use: Some species have medicinal properties and are used in the kitchen, but basically the plants of this kind are used in gardening. If put in sunny or partially shaded areas on all types of ground grow well without any major problems. The best effect is achieved by producing large patches of decorative gardens large and rather rustic. The use of "Rudbeckie" in gardening goes back several centuries ago, in fact Rudbeckia laciniata was imported from North America in 1640, while the Rudbeckia hirta was introduced in Europe in 1699. The flower market of these species has been greatly enriched by the 'introduction of different cultivars that with appropriate selections produced some species flowers in multiple colors and elegant.
