Breve Descrizione: Pianta epifita, cioè che vive senza terra, con foglie lanceolate verdi e coriacee che raggiungono anche i 40 cm, ciascuna portata da uno pseudo bulbo allungato; l'infiorescenza e' portata dall'ultimo pseudobulbo che si e' sviluppato. Le specie epifite hanno l'apparato radicale ricoperto da uno strato protettivo di cellule morte. Si sviluppano sopra altre piante, ma non svolgono un ruolo da parassita. Infatti si nutrono dell'umidità dell'aria e delle sostanze e delle particelle portate dal vento, tramite delle apposite foglie specializzate in questo assorbimento.

Durata: Perenne.
