Breve Descrizione: Comprendente parecchie specie bulbose e numerose varietà con infiorescenze, disposte in spighe o racemi, tra l'azzurro e l'indaco. Tutte hanno in comune il bulbo tunicato e le foglie strette e lunghe fino a 30cm. Tra i nomi volgari coi quali son note le varietà presenti in Italia, ricordiamo: lampascione, muschino, pan del cucco, pentolino.

Durata: Perenne.

Periodo Di Fioritura: Da febbraio a giugno.

Area Di Origine: Asia.

Clima: Rigido.

Uso: Viene coltivata come pianta ornamentale nei giardini per ottenere macchie di colore. In alcune regioni del sud Italia il bulbo del lampascione (Muscari Comosum), viene usato cotto per la preparazione di ricette tradizionali.

All have in common the tunicate bulb and leaves up to 30cm long and narrow. Among the common names by which they are known varieties in Italy, remember: lampascione, muschino, the cuckoo pan, saucepan.

Area of Origin: Asia.

Climate: Cold.

Use: It is grown as an ornamental plant in gardens to get patches of color. In some regions of southern Italy the bulb of lampascione (grape hyacinth), is used for the preparation of cooked recipes.
