Breve Descrizione: Pianta da interni sempreverde, rampicante, alte fino a circa due metri. La specie più diffusa per la coltivazione in casa è la Monstera deliciosa, le foglie sono verde scuro, cuoriformi allo stato giovanile, per poi cambiare forma in eta adulta. I margini possono essere sia interi sia discontinui, anche profondamente incisi, presentano talvolta delle caratteristiche perforazioni. In natura presenta un frutto di forma conica con un profumo di banana e ananas e un sapore dolciastro che ricorda sempre l'ananas.

Durata: Perenne.

Periodo Di Fioritura: Raramente in estate presenta una fioritura a spadice.

Area Di Origine: Foreste dell' America centrale.

Clima: Tropicale.

Uso: La Monstera Deliciosa è molto apprezzata come pianta ornamentale, soprattutto negli appartamenti. Tra le piante da appartamento, è senz'altro tra le più notevoli per quanto riguarda le dimensioni delle foglie. Non richiede troppa luce, né tollera il pieno sole.
