Nome Botanico: Leucanthemum Vulgare.

Breve Descrizione: Pianta erbacea della famiglia delle Asteraceae comunissima nei prati della Penisola italiana. Alte 20-40 cm (massimo 80-100 cm) sono piante perennanti con gemme poste al livello del suolo ,con fusto allungato e poco foglioso. Possono essere glabre oppure leggermente coperte da una fitta peluria. Il nome generico (Leucanthemum) deriva da due parole greche leukos (= bianco) e anthemon (= fiore) e fa ovviamente riferimento al colore dei fiori.

Durata: Perenne.

Periodo Di Fioritura: Variabile tra primavera ed estate.

Area Di Origine: Europa, Asia.

Clima: Temperato caldo.

Uso: È un pianta facile da coltivare e di sicuro effetto. Viene utilizzata per bordure o tappeti erbosi. Si può moltiplicare per seme (in primavera) o per divisione dei cespi in autunno. Predilige zone da soleggiate a lievemente ombrose con terreni normali da giardino, possibilmente sciolti e leggeri (sia acidi che basici). Evita l'acqua stagnante.

Brief Description: Herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family very common in the meadows of the Italian Peninsula. 20-40 cm high (maximum 80-100 cm) are perennial plants with buds placed at ground level, with elongated stem and little foglioso. May be bare or lightly covered with thick hair. The generic name (Leucanthemum) comes from two Greek words leukos (= white) and anthemon (= flower) and is obviously referring to the color of the flowers.

Flowering Period: Variable between spring and summer.

Area of Origin: Europe, Asia.

Climate: Temperate warm.

Use: It is an easy plant to grow and highly effective. Is used for borders or turf. You can multiply by seed (in spring) or by division of clumps in autumn. It prefers sunny areas to a slightly shady with normal garden soil, possibly loose and light (both acid and alkaline). Avoid standing water.
