Breve Descrizione: Pianta di facile coltivazione, erbacea con grandi foglie dal colore intenso, a margine intero o seghettato. Esistono due grandi categorie: le Dahlie da bordura , coltivate anche come fiori da recidere, e quelle da vaso o aiuola. Le specie da bordura fioriscono dall' estate fino a metà autunno e hanno un'altezza variabile tra i 50 e i 150 cm; i fiori hanno colorazioni vivacissime che variano dal rosso al rosa e dal viola al giallo e all'arancione.Le Daliette da vaso, non superano i 50 cm. ed hanno fioriture colorate in rosa, bianco, giallo, rosso e lilla.

Durata: Perenne.

Periodo Di Fioritura: Fiorisce a partire da luglio a inizio autunno. Il fiore si presenta in svariate forme: semplice, doppio, a palla, a forma di margherita, globoso, pompon, cactus; i colori predominanti sono il giallo e il rosso, ma non mancano varietà a petali screziati o con colori sfumati.

Area Di Origine: America Centrale - Messico.

Clima: Temperato caldo.

Uso: Viene coltivata in vaso da esporre su balconi e terrazzi, in inverno bisogna posizionare la pianta in luogo riparato. Non sono un genere adatto alla vita in appartamento. Possiamo vederle anche come piante ornamentali per aiuole o bordure.
