Breve Descrizione: Piante dicotiledoni infestanti che possono raggiungere i 120 centimetri di altezza. Il gambo si trova al di sotto dei cotiledoni ed è glabro, anche se talvolta può essere ricoperto da una sottile peluria, e vicino alla base può assumere una colorazione rossastra. I cotiledoni sono stretti, lunghi dai 10 ai 12 millimetri, e presentano un colore che va dal verde al rossastro. Le foglie sono alternate, di forma ovale, e leggermente dentellate all'apice. La radice è a fittone, spesso di colore rossastro. I fiori sono piccoli, verdi e vengono prodotti in pannocchie terminali dense e compatte lunghe fino a 16 centimetri. Si ritrovano delle piccole infiorescenze anche tra il gambo e il picciolo delle foglie. I fiori maschili e quelli femminili sono sulla stessa pianta (pianta monoica). Ogni pannocchia terminale contiene molte spighe densamente impacchettate che hanno brattee.

Brief Description: Plants dicotyledonous weeds that can reach 120 centimeters in height. The stem is below the cotyledons and is smooth, although sometimes it can be covered with a thin hair, and near the base can take on a reddish hue. The cotyledons are narrow, from 10 to 12 mm, and have a color ranging from green to reddish. The leaves are alternate, oval, and slightly notched at the apex. The root is a taproot, often reddish. The flowers are small, green, and are produced in terminal panicles dense and compact up to 16 cm long. Small inflorescences are found also between the stem and the petiole of the leaves. The male and female flowers are on the same plant (monoecious plant). Each terminal panicle contains many densely packed spikes that have bracts.
