GIANFRANCO
MINGOZZI
A "Cineasta totale"
Gianfranco
Mingozzi's work has evolved on different lines, from documentaries and
fiction, full and short length films, from cinema to television, from
an optical view that gives evidence of a permitted bulimia operation.
Nourishing his works of fantasy, using a realistic documentary
approach, Mingozzi adds, in his most successful films, a sort of
Unitarian theme, evident in the desire, example 'Cineasta', to be
present in his time - his historical films are proof of this, where he
doesn't give in to the figurative complaisance that often characterizes
this style, but on the contrary faces the themes with a documentary
glance that transfers the problems of the past into the prospect of the
presento To this is added a firm balanced sentiment between the private
and the public, among the private references and political judgement,
involving the most vivid sensibility and the most meditated criticismo
Therefore in a multi form work and deeply Unitarian, even under its
appearance hetero genetically, Gianfranco Mingozzi finds miraculous
balance equilibrium in confluence between reality and imagination. From
the 'documented point of view' dear to Jean Vigo, giving his work a
sort of permanent apprehension between realistic and fantasy. From the
documentary to fiction, in an active constant research, always escaping
in front of everything that risks being uncertain, Mingozzi inscribes
to a TRAETTORIA among the most originai in the contemporary Italian
cinema. Mingozzi explores ali that the cinematographic expressions
offer in its numerous aspects to the Cineasti constantly deferring and
re -proposing the motives. He's a spy, in our time, seizing the reality
and reproducing it in a kaleidoscope without end.
