most of the photos don’t carry a date, but presumably John Stanley left the Home Guard when the family moved away from the Wimbledon area in November 1954, so all the photos would be late 1940’s/early 1950’s

the Home Guard was disbanded at the end of WW2, but a modernised version was briefly re-established in December 1951 – this would further limit the dates of the photos to 1951-4, although at least 2 are dated 1955, when John Stanley had already left the Wimbledon area
