|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
● Richard Thomas Edward and Rebecca Ann Eliza Looft/Loft (1873-1921) had 8 children between 1896 and
1913, but to date the researcher who kindly provided most of the information
on this family, a grandson-in-law of Richard Thomas Edward, has been unable
to find a marriage for them ● presumably Richard Thomas Edward abandoned Rebecca Ann Eliza
and the 8 children when he married Alice MAY and they left for America ● the same correspondent comments “From what my father-in-law [one
of the 8 children] said Ivy [the eldest daughter, born 1900] took on the role
of mother, together with Horace, the oldest son [born 1896], who seems to have
been the breadwinner, they all seem to have survived one way or the other! I
don't know if they had help from other relatives. Maurice [the youngest son,
born 1913] joined the army as a boy soldier and up to his death was always
very close to his family - as to whether he had any correspondence with his
father I am not sure.” ● nothing more
