Ancona: route 4 in tension

Since December 1st, the new trolleybus route 4 from piazza Bassi and Tavernelle has been in tension and has been tested by the nine Menarini trolleybuses numbers 1-9. The regular passenger service will be opened on January 7th 2004. This is the second trolleybusline with number 4 in the Ancona transport history: the first route 4 was built in the '50s linking the city centre with the suburb Tavernelle where the route had a single line section. The corridor was dieselized in 1973 together with most of the trolleybus lines (only route 1 survived) until late '90s when it was decided to rebuild the overhead.
