"I feel honored and blessed to be able to express my humanness, yearnings and revelations through my art," said Alanis, apparently without any irony. "For that to be something that may touch and inspire others, that invites them to define themselves in accordance to me, and that may remind them in some small way of their beauty and the gift that is life is the greatest gift I could possibly imagine. No, I have no idea what that means either, but it sure sounds purdy, don't it?"
