22/06/2001. Il nuovo album uscira' ad ottobre?!
Secondo BillBoard, l'uscita del nuovo album di Alanis e' stata fissata per il mese di ottobre di quest'anno (probabilmente per il 2 Ottobre e pare che s'intitolera' "Under Rug Swept", come il mini-tour estivo in corso in questi giorni)...: la fonte sembra abbastanza autorevole, quindi non ci rimane che sperare che questa sia la volta buona!!!

12/06/2001. La dodicesima nuova canzone a Parigi!
Ieri Alanis si e' esibita a Parigi e ha cantato un nuovo brano intitolato "Space Of Illusion".

09/06/2001. Ennesima nuova canzone in Austria!
Ieri Alanis si e' esibita a Innsbrook (in Austria) e ha cantato un nuovo brano intitolato "Clean Hands".

07/06/2001. Alanis e Tricky insieme per registrare alcune tracce.
Tricky ha detto: "Avevo le tracce pronte e avevo completato il ritmo. Non avevo mai pensato seriamente che sarebbe venuta. Poi un giorno, e' entrata nello studio con una penna e un foglio di carta e ho pensato che era davvero incredibile - ho avuto piu' problemi con gente che vende solo 10.000 dischi. Semplicemente entro' nello studio, si presento' a tutti e disse 'Posso ascoltare le tracce?'. Io gli ho fatto ascoltare i brani, lei ha detto 'Andiamo nell'altra stanza', e in circa un'ora e mezza, ha inciso tre cori. Ma me ne hanno fatto usare solo uno." Tricky ha aggiunto: "Abbiamo parlato di lavorare assieme, di fare un album. Quando stavamo registrando le tracce, ci intendevamo alla perfezione, cosi lei ha semplicemente detto 'Potremmo andare in India e fare un album'.

Ieri Alanis si e' esibita in Belgio e ha cantato un nuovo brano intitolato "Utopia". Questa e' stata la scaletta del concerto: Intro, Unprodigal Daughter, 21 things, All I Really Want, Narcissus, Hand in my Pocket, Flinch, You Learn, Bent 4 U, Forgiven, Fear of Bliss, Utopia, A man, You Oughta Know, Uninvited (introdotta da un pianoforte). Ieri Alanis si e' esibita a Utrecht (in Olanda) e ha cantato un nuovo brano intitolato "So Unsexy".

04/06/2001. Alanis Morissette ha risolto i suoi problemi con la Maverick.
Da MadonnaLand.com: "Madonna ha sospeso le prove per il suo imminente Drowned Tour questa settimana per incontrare Alanis Morissette e tentare di persuadere la cantante Canadese a rimanere con la Maverick Records, la compagnia discografica formata da Madonna per promuovere nuovi talenti. La Morissette si era detta furiosa con la Maverick per la scarsa promozione del secondo album 'Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie' e aveva considerato l'ipotesi di andare via. Giovedi Madonna ha cancellato le prove per il suo tour e ha tenuto quello che in molti hanno definito un 'incontro al vertice' con la Morissette a Los Angeles. Una fonte ha dichiarato: 'il problema di Madonna e' che Alanis e' l'unico artista a portare soldi alla Maverick.' Alla Morissette sono stati offerti contratti multi-miliardari da altre case discografiche. 03/06/2001. Alanis sara' a New York il 23 e il 24 luglio per il Plug.In Festival.
Da RollingStone: "Alanis Morissette ha accettato di parlare ad una conferenza sulla musica digitale che si terra' a New York. La Morissette e' stata invitata al Plug.In Festival, che si svolge nei giorni 23 e il 24 luglio. Il festival ospitera' rappresentanti di Napster, Aimster, dirigenti di compagnie discografiche ed altri esponenti dell'industria musicale per discutere sulle normative da applicare al mercato della musica digitale e agli effetti che queste regolamentazioni avranno sulla musica digitale stessa."

02/06/2001. Alanis in Germania...
Alanis si e' esibita ieri in Germania al Rock-am-ring Festival (questa sera sara' al Rock-im-park Festival)! Questa e' stata la scaletta dello show: Unprodigal Daughter, All I Really Want, Fear of Bliss, Hand in my Pocket, You Learn, Bent 4 U, Forgiven, Narcissist, A Man, You Oughta Know, Uninvited. Come bis ha eseguito Thank U e Ironic. 13 canzoni per circa 1 ora di concerto...questa pare essere la linea che manterra' nelle sue esibizioni durante i vari Festival ai quali prendera' parte.

26/05/2001. Alcuni titoli delle nuove canzoni...
Ieri sera Alanis Morissette si e' esibita a Los Angeles (dove replichera' questa sera), dando così ufficialmente il via al nuovo tour che la vedra' impegnata durante la prima parte dell'state in Europa e poi in tutto il mondo. Nella scaletta del concerto, hanno trovato posto diverse canzoni inedite che probabilmente faranno parte del prossimo album...questi i titoli: Unprodigal Daughter, 21 Things (I Want In A Lover), Fear Of Bliss, Flinch, Bent 4 U, Narcissus, Purgatorying, A Man.
Si ipotizza addirittura che "Flinch" sara' il primo singolo del nuovo CD: i biglietti per le date Losangeline erano acquistabili solo OnLine attraverso tickmaster.com, ma per farlo era necessario avere una password posta su alanismorissette.com...indovinate qual'era questa password?!? "Flinch", appunto...!!!

17/05/2001. Alanis salva uno spettacolo di Brodway.
Alanis Morissette, finanziando 150.000$ dollari, ha "salvato" dalla chiusura uno spettacolo di Brodway intitolato "Jane Eyre"! Alanis e' un'amica di Paul Gordon, compositore dello spettacolo e grazie al suo aiuto, il Musical che avrebbe dovuto chiudere i battenti il 20 maggio, prolunghera' la  sua permanenza a Brodway! 

12/05/2001. Posticipata l'uscita di "Jay and Silent Bob strike back".
L'uscita del film "Jay and Silent Bob strike back", la seconda parte di "Dogma", e' stata posticipata dal 10 al 24 agosto 2001. Molto probabilmente Alanis interpretera' nuovamente il ruolo di Dio, ma ancora nessuna conferma e' stata data in questo senso. Ovviamente il 24 agosto e' la data d'uscita del film prevista per gli USA...considerando che in Italia stiamo ancora aspettando "Dogma"...!!!

06/05/2001. Alanis in tv!
Prendete nota: Mercoledì 9 Maggio ore 23.30, ci sarà uno speciale di circa 30 minuti su Alanis (monografia) durante la trasmissione "Story So Far" in onda sulla rete televisiva TMC2-MTV.

05/05/2001. Altre due date in Italia x Alanis!!!
Ormai e' ufficialmente confermato il tour europeo estivo di Alanis Morissette! La nostra beniamina sbarcherà in Germania il prossimo 2 giugno per il festival “Rock am Ring”, e si dirigerà quindi in Belgio, Inghilterra, Irlanda ed Austria prima d’affrontare la data del 16 giugno all'Heineken Jammin’ Festival di Imola. Altri concerti in Scandinavia e Svizzera, per poi tornare nuovamente in Italia dove si esibirà il 12 luglio in piazza del Duomo a Brescia ed il 13 luglio a Palermo, in un luogo ancora da annunciare.

04/05/2001. Alanis Morissette ha pianificato un TOUR MONDIALE?!
Alanis Morissette ha esteso i suoi concerti anche al di fuori dell'Europa e ora sta pensando agli Stati Uniti d'America. Confermata infatti una data per il 31 luglio ad Anchorage, in Alaska!

30/04/2001. Alanis aggiunge altre due date estive! 
Alanis fara' altri due concerti da sola quest'estate! Con o senza il nuovo album! Le date si terranno in Svizzera al Montreux Jazz festival con Tricky (Alanis ha preso parte al suo nuovo album in uscita quest'estate) e a Londra per il suo primo concerto completamente da sola! Per un riepilogo delle date stabilite fino ad ora, controllate la nuova sezione "Tour 2001".

23/04/2001. Un altro concerto in Austria?
"Vivo in Austria e in un giornale ho letto che c'e' in programma un concerto per il 15 luglio! Non e' ancora ufficiale, ma ho pensato che poteva interessarvi. Forse, questo vuol dire che Alanis fara' un tour questa estate, dopo aver partecipato ai festival! :)" Questa breve nota e' stata inviata a AMNET da Jutta Brosch di Vienna, Austria. C'e' nell'aria il profumo di un nuovo tour? 

22/04/2001. Alanis sul TIME.
C'e' un articolo sull'edizione settimanale del TIME del 16 aprile 2001 che riguarda la testimonianza di Alanis su Napster accompagnato da una piccola foto di Alanis e Don Henley. L'articolo si trova a pag. 43. (Intitolato "More Pain for Napster")

21/04/2001. Alanis gira la sua parte in J&SB.
Venerdi e' stato il 43esimo giorno di riprese per il film di prossima uscita "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back", che puo' essere considerato come il proseguimento di "Dogma". Se qualcuno di voi non lo sapesse, Alanis Morissette aveva interpretato un ruolo-cameo in "Dogma" vestendo i panni di Dio. Il direttore Kevin Smith non ha ancora rivelato quale sara' il ruolo di Alanis in questo film! Resta in dubbio se interpretera' nuovamente la parte di Dio. Alanis comunque ha girato la/le sua/sue scena/scene in un giorno: non e' ancora chiaro il numero di scene, comunque una di queste viene identificata con il nome di "Martini Scene"...
La data di rilascio (negli USA!) del film e' il 10 agosto 2001.

20/04/2001. Alanis compra un appartamento Ottawa!
Alanis ha comprato un appartmento in un esclusivo quartiere appena fuori Sussex Drive, a pochi passi dal Byward Market. Sussex Drive e' la stessa strada in cui abita il Primo Ministro Canadese. Per un appartamento all'11mo piano, Alanis ha speso un totale di 575,000$ (368,000$ americani; circa 750,000,000 milioni di lire).

09/04/2001. Il papa' di Alanis fa da guida alle le star del futuro!
Alan Morissette, il papa' di Alanis, terra' una conferenza presso l'Universita' di Ottawa dal 1 al 3 giugno dal titolo "What do I do now?" ("Cosa faccio adesso?"). Lo scopo della conferenza sara' di aiutare e di guidare i giovani artisti a gestire se stessi lungo la (faticosa e piena di insidie) strada che li condurra' al successo!

07/04/2001. Eliminata da Napster, anche se lei ne era a favore...!
Come avrete gia' notato (poiche' circa l'85% dei fan di Alanis utilizzano Napster) che Alanis Morissette e' stata eliminata da Napster. Se si prova ad inserire "Alanis" nel motore di ricerca infatti, non si ottiene alcun risultato! Quindi c'e' da giungere alla logica conclusione che, anche se Alanis non e' mai stata contraria a Napster, probabilmente la sua casa discografica lo fosse. Ma non temete, interessanti alternative stanno gia' prendendo piede nel campo del "libero scambio" OnLine!

03/04/2001. Alanis parla davanti al Senato Americano!
Oggi, 3 aprile alle ore 10:00, Alanis Morissette parlerà davanti alla Commissione Giudiziaria del Senato Americano presieduta da Orrin Hatch. L'argomento, "Online Entertainment and Copyright Law: Coming Soon To A Digital Device Near You," sarà utile alla costituzione di leggi sul copyright e sulle royalties nel mondo di Internet.

30/03/2001. Alanis nuovamente in Italia (e crescono le aspettative per il nuovo album)!
Durante la consueta conferenza stampa che ogni anno gli organizzatori dell'HEINEKEN JAMMIN' FESTIVAL tengono per presentare ai giornalisti e agli addetti ai lavori il programma di uno degli eventi musicali più importanti in Italia, e' stata confermata ufficialmente la presenza di Alanis Morissette fra gli artisti che si esibiranno sul palco allestito all’autodromo “Enzo e Dino Ferrari” di Imola!!! La nostra beniamina dovrebbe esibirsi durante il corso del primo dei due giorni di concerto (cioe', sabato 16 giugno)...
La notizia, oltre a segnare il ritorno in Italia di Alanis a meno di un anno di distanza dalla sua ultima esibizione live (in occasione del "One Tour '00" a Lucca), contribuisce notevolmente ad incrementare quelle voci che smentiscono la posticipazione dell'uscita del nuovo album e che invece confermano il 12 giugno come vera data ufficiale del rilascio del nuovo lavoro di Alanis!

HEINEKEN JAMMIN' FESTIVAL: comunicato ufficiale

26/03/2001. Stando a quanto riportato dal sito francese actustar.com, Alanis Morissette incidera' un altro singolo per la colonna sonora di un film, questa volta in compagnia di Axl Rose dei Guns 'N' Roses! I due dovrebbero registrare una traccia per una nuova trilogia di film di prossima uscita, chiamata "Lord of the Rings". Ancora non si conosce il luogo preciso in cui avverra' la registrazione, ma sembra certo che l'incontro avra' luogo durante i loro Tour Europei di quest'estate: molto probabilmente in Germania visto che Alanis e Axl saranno entrambi ospiti del "ROCK AM RING" festival...!

18/03/2001. Alanis Morissette chiama Courtney Love! 
Alanis Morissette chiama Courtney Love per discutere sui diritti degli artisti, e su come gli artisti stessi vengano sistematicamente "fregati" dalle case discografiche. Di seguito potete leggere una lettera inviata da Courtney Love a Prince (il testo e' quello originale e quindi e' in inglese. Per la traduzione, youlearn@freemail.it):

"Dear Fellow Recording Artists, 

I'm writing to ask you to join the chorus of recording artists who want us all to get a fair deal from the record companies. R.E.M., the Dixie Chicks, U2, Alanis Morrissette, Bush, Prince and Q-Tip have called me with their support and we need your participation as well. 

There are 3 basic facts to all recording artists should know: 

1. No one has ever represented the rights and interests of recording artists AS A GROUP in negotiations with record companies 

2. Recording artists don't have access to quality health care and pension plans like the ones made available to actors and athletes through their unions. 

3. Recording artists are paid royalties that represent a tiny fraction of the money their work earns. 

As I was working with my manager and my new attorneys on my lawsuit with the Universal Music Group, we realized that the most unfair clauses in my contract applied to ALL recording artists. Most importantly, no one was representing artists in an attempt to change the system. 

Recording artists need to form a new organization that will represent their interests in Washington and negotiate fair contract terms with record companies. 

Here's what you should know: 

THERE IS NO ONE WHO REPRESENTS RECORDING ARTISTS
Recording artists don't have a single union that looks out for their interests. AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) has a contract with major labels for vocalists and the AFM (American Federation of Musicians) has a contract for non-singing musicians and session players. 

If you're in a band, your singer is represented by a different union (AFTRA) than the rest of your group (who are represented by the AFM). AFTRA negotiates contracts for TV and Radio performers. They don't pay very much attention to the recording business; it's not their priority. The AFM acts like band members are sidemen and session players because that's mostly who the union represents. 

Record companies like this system because neither union represents all artists. AFTRA and AFM only negotiate session fees and other minor issues for the singers or the "sidemen." 

Who looks after our interests in Washington? Until very recently, Congress believed that the RIAA spoke for recording artists. The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) is a trade group that is paid for by record companies to represent their interests. The Napster hearings last summer and a few other issues have let Washington know that NO ONE speaks for recording artists right now. We have their attention and must act quickly to make sure artists have a voice. 

RECORDING ARTISTS DON'T HAVE A SAFTEY NET
Compare yourself to actors and baseball players. Like the music business, the film and the sports industries generate billions of dollars in income each year, but those industries offer far better benefits to the men and women who create their wealth. 

The Screen Actors Guild offers a fantastic health care plan to its members. That health plan is paid for by the contracts that SAG has negotiated with film studios. The baseball player's union has negotiated a pension plan that ensures that NO major league player ever finds himself without an income. 

Why shouldn't recording artists get the same benefits? 

RECORDING ARTISTS DON'T GET PAID
Record companies have a 5% success rate. That means that 5% of all records released by major labels go gold or platinum. How do record companies get away with a 95% failure rate that would be totally unacceptable in any other business? 

Record companies keep almost all the profits. Recording artists get paid a tiny fraction of the money earned by their music. That allows record executives to be incredibly sloppy in running their companies and still create enormous amounts for cash for the corporations that own them. 

The royalty rates granted in every recording contract are very low to start with and then companies charge back every conceivable cost to an artist's royalty account. Artists pay for recording costs, video production costs, tour support, radio promotion, sales and marketing costs, packaging costs and any other cost the record company can subtract from their royalties. 

Record companies also reduce royalties by "forgetting" to report sales figure, miscalculating royalties and by preventing artists from auditing record company books. 

Recording contracts are unfair and a single artist negotiating an individual deal doesn't have the leverage to change the system. Artists will finally get paid what they deserve when they band together and force the recording industry to negotiate with them AS A GROUP. 

Thousands of successful artists who sold hundreds of millions of records and generated billions of dollars in profits for record companies find themselves broke and forgotten by the industry they made wealthy. 

Here a just a few examples of what we're talking about: 

Multiplatinum artists like TLC ("Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," "Waterfalls" and "No Scrubs") and Toni Braxton ("Unbreak My Heart" and "Breathe Again") have been forced to declare bankruptcy because their recording contracts didn't pay them enough to survive. 

Corrupt recording agreements forced the heirs of Jimi Hendrix ("Purple Haze," "All Along the Watchtower" and "Stone Free") to work menial jobs while his catalog generated millions of dollars each year for Universal Music. 

Florence Ballard from the Supremes ("Where Did Our Love Go," "Stop in the Name of Love" and "You Keep Me Hangin' On" are just 3 of the 10 #1 hits she sang on) was on welfare when she died. 

Collective Soul earned almost no money from "Shine," one of the biggest alternative rock hits of the 90s when Atlantic paid almost all of their royalties to an outside production company. 

Merle Haggard ("I Threw Away the Rose," "Sing Me Back Home" and "Today I Started Loving You Again") enjoyed a string of 37 top-ten country singles (including 23 #1 hits) in the 60s and 70s. Yet he never received a record royalty check until last year when he released an album on the indie punk-rock label Epitaph. 

Even Elvis Presley, the biggest-selling artist of all time, died with an estate valued at not even $3 million. 

Think of it this way: recording artists are often the writers, directors and producers of their own records. They write the songs, choose the producers and engineers who record their music, hire and oversee the photographers and designers who create their CD artwork and oversee all parts of video production, from concept to director to final edit. 

Record companies advance money for recording costs and provide limited marketing services for the music that artists conceive and create. In exchange, they keep almost all of the money and 100% of the copyrights. 

Even the most successful recording artists in history (The Beatles, The Eagles, Nirvana, Eminem) have been paid a fraction of the money they deserved from sales of their records. 

This is a very big and very important project and we're in the early days. Here's what we're looking for: 

1. Artists who are willing to speak to the media to publicly lend their support to the idea that recording artists need an organization that represents our interests in Washinton and with the record companies. We also would like you tell your managers and attorneys that you support this cause and that you expect them, as your representatives and employees to do the same. 

2. Anyone who can tell us specific stories about how artists have been ripped off by record companies like the ones I told above. We're going to have to educate the public and the media and Congress and the only way we'll do that is by giving them examples they can relate to. 

NOW is the time for action. 

Artists like Garbage and N*SYNC have have joined me in questioning bad contracts and have also gone to court to change the system. 

Record companies have merged and re-merged to the point where they can no longer relate to their artists. 

Digital distribution will change the music industry forever; artists must make sure they finally get their fair share of the money their music earns. 

We need to come together quickly and present a united front to the industry. Your managers and attorneys will probably tell you not to rock the boat and not to risk your "relationship" with your record company by taking a stand. 

Most attorneys and managers are conflicted. Almost all entertainment law firms represent both artists and record companies. Lawyers can't take a stand against record companies because that's where they get most of their business. Even the best managers often have business relationships with labels and depend on record companies to refer new clients. 

Think about Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam's stand against TicketMaster. Everyone knew he was right and yet no other artist took a public stand against a company that we all knew was hurting our business because our managers and attorneys told us it would be a bad idea. 

Attorneys and managers are your employees. Make sure they know how you feel and that you want them to publicly support the idea that the terms of recording contracts are unfair and cover too long a time period. You also want them to supportan organization that will negotiate health and pension benefits for all recording artists. 

Artists have all the power. They create the music that makes the money that funds the business. No one has ever harnessed that power for artists' collective good. 

And remember something equally important: Actors had to fight to end the studio system that forced actors to work for one employer and baseball players had to strike to end the reserve clause that tied a player to one team for his entire career. Even though "experts" predicted economic disaster once actors and athletes gained their freedom, both the film business and baseball have enjoyed their greatest financial success once their talent was given its freedom. 

Join us now in taking a public stand. Your name will help get the attention that artists rights deserve. If you're willing to speak to the media or testify before Congress, you can help make our goals a reality. 

Do it for yourself, for your children and do it for the artists who inspired you to make music in the first place.

08/03/2001. Alanis ritorna sul palco a giugno!!!
Nonostante la Maverick abbia annunciato la posticipazione dell'uscita del nuovo album di Alanis dal 12 giugno a "la fine dell'anno", questa notizia potrebbe non essere vera! Forse il 12 giugno, o giu' di li, sara' davvero la data ufficiale del rilascio del nuovo album di Alanis! E' stata fissata (e confermata) infatti la prima data ufficiale del calendario dei concerti di Alanis per il 2001: si tratta del 2 giugno in Germania per il "ROCK AM RING" festival (di MTV)!!! Alanis si esibira' con i  Guns N Roses, i Tool, i Radiohead, i Manic Street Preachers e tantissimi altri artisti! Tutto questo, c'e' da supporre, per dare un'anteprima del suo nuovo CD... Se vi trovaste a questo concerto quindi, sareste molto probabilmente tra i primi fans ad ascoltare le nuove canzoni di Alanis!

ROCK AM RING: sito ufficiale

06/03/2001. La Maverick in guai finanziari...
Stando a recenti voci comparse su molte riviste americane la Maverick Records, etichetta fondata da Madonna e casa discografica di Alanis Morissette, sarebbe in forti guai finanziari e rischierebbe addirittura il fallimento! Forse e' questa una delle cause che hanno ritardato la data di uscita del nuovo album di Alanis dapprima annunciata per il 12 giugno 2001 e in seguito posticipata alla fine dell'anno?!

Questa notizia potrebbe interessarvi! Cercando libri che in qualche modo avvessero a che fare con Alanis, ho trovato un libro intitolato "Jay and Silent Bob: Chasing Dogma". Scritto da Kevin Smith, parla del film DOGMA e dell'intera storia di Jay e Silent Bob (gli angeli protagonisti del film). La cosa singolare, e' che osservando il libro piu' attentamente si legge: Introduction by Alanis Morissette. Quindi, a quanto pare Alanis Morissette ha scritto l'introduzione a questo libro!!! Ovviamente per poterlo avere, bisogna acquistarlo OnLine, visto che e' una pubblicazione americana e che noi in Italia siamo ancora in attesa di "Dogma" il film! ...piu' avanti avrete altri particolari su questa notizia...

22/02/2001. Alanis ha perso... 
Questa volta ha dovuto accontentarsi della sola nomination ai Grammy Awards del 2001. Il premio come "Best Female Solo Rock Performance" (Miglior Performance Solista Rock Femminile) e' andato a Sheryl Crow! Certamente la nostra beniamina si rifara' ai Grammy del 2002!

20/02/2001. Oh What a Feeling (II). 
Questa notizia riguarda soprattutto i fan Canadesi di Alanis, ma può certamente interessare tutti noi. Oggi, in Canada, e' uscito "Oh What a Feeling II". E' un box-set composto da 4 cd che promuovendo la musica Canadese, servira' a raccogliere fondi per la "Canadian Charities". Alanis compare in uno di questi 4 cd con il brano "Thank U". Il cofanetto e' acquistabile per 30$ (circa 60.000£) sotto etichetta HMV.

17/02/2001. "Tibetan Freedom Concert 2001".
Anche quest'anno ci sara' l'ormai consueto concerto per la liberazione del Tibet! A differenza della passata edizione, quest'anno la manifestazione si terra' in Inghilterra! Le possibilita' di vedere anche Alanis fra gli artisti che si esibiranno, e' per ora del 50%. Se il suo nuovo lavoro dovesse uscire in estate, da una parte la partecipazione a questo evento sarebbe un'ottima occasione per promuovere l'album oltre che per sostenere una causa alla quale Alanis stessa tiene molto; dall'altra, l'uscita di un nuovo album implica come al solito una serie di impegni promozionali (apparizioni televisive, conferenze, ecc.) in giro per il mondo e quindi proprio a causa di questi impegni, Alanis potrebbe non poter partecipare al concerto... 10/02/2001. Alanis partecipera' al nuovo album di Tricky?!
Secondo Billboard.com: "Tricky, precedentemente sotto contratto con la Island/Def Jam, ha firmato un nuovo accordo con la Hollywood Records. Fra gli ospiti del suo lavoro di debutto per la nuova etichetta in uscita a luglio e ancora senza titolo, dovrebbero figurare iRed Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morissette e Live's Ed Kowalczyk..."

30/01/2001. Sul sito ufficiale della Maverick Records e' comparsa in data odierna una notizia che smentisce quanto detto in precedenza sulla pubblicazione del nuovo album di Alanis. Piu' che di una smentita vera e propria, si tratta di una rettifica: il nuovo lavoro non sara' pronto per il 12 giugno 2001 (come annunciato), ma solo per la fine dell'anno! Per tutti i milioni di fan di Alanis Morissette si tratta certamente di una notizia poco gradevole, ma comunque l'appuntamento e' rimandato di "appena" qualche mese!

24/01/2001. Notizia ufficiale diffusa dalla Maverick Records: l'uscita del nuovo album di Alanis e' stata fissata per il 12 giugno 2001! Il nuovo lavoro di cui ancora non si conosce il titolo, e' stato interamente scritto, diretto e prodotto da Alanis stessa e da quanto si dice in giro, dovrebbe avere un suono ancora piu' duro e tagliente...!!!

17/01/2001. In questo momento, Alanis si trova in studio di registrazione per l'incisione del suo 5° album (6°, se si tiene conto dell'unplugged per MTV). La notizia è stata confermata dalla stessa Alanis e anche dalla Maverick, ma la casa discografica non ha dato anticipazioni sulla data di uscita del nuovo CD. Presumibilmente, dovremmo poterlo ascoltare verso la fine dell'estate?!

13/01/2001. Jagged Little Pill è ufficialmente l'album di un'artista femminile più venduto degli anni '90! Al 2° posto, Come On Over di Shania Twain...!

03/01/2001. Alanis ha ricevuto la prima nomination del millennio: si e' da poco saputo che la nostra artista preferita, partecipera' ai Grammy nella categoria "Best Female Solo Rock Performance" (Miglior Performance Solista Rock Femminile). A farle ricevere questa nomination e' stato il brano So Pure, eseguito a Woodstock nel '99! Le sue ''rivali'' sono: Fionna Apple con "Paper Bag", Sheryl Crow con "There goes the Neighborhood", Melissa Ethridge con "Enough of Me" e Patti Smith con "Glitter in their Eyes"... riuscira' Alanis a vincere l'ennesimo Grammy della sua carriera? Lo sapremo il 21 febbraio 2001.

02/01/2001. E' ufficiale: Alanis Morissette prendera' parte al nuovo lavoro cinematografico di Kevin Smith che uscira' in tutti i cinema americani il 10 agosto 2001! La pellicola attualmente in fase di lavorazione, altro non e' che la seconda parte del film "Dogma" mai uscito in Italia e che vedeva la nostra beniamina impegnata ad interpretare la parte di Dio in un ruolo cameo. Al momento, non si sa molto sul film ne' sul ruolo che avra' Alanis (visto che in "Dogma" non pronunciava neanche una battuta [altrimenti, la parola di Dio avrebbe distrutto il mondo intero...], forse questa volta dira' qualcosa?...), l'unica cosa che sembra essere certa e' il titolo del film: "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back!"
