Some of Mendelsohn's more well known buildings are the Einstein Tower in Potsdam, the Hat Factory in Luckenwalde, departmental stores at Nuremberg, the departmental stores in Berlin, and a series of large Synagogues and Community Centers including the Mount Zion Temple in Minneapolis

Eric Mendelsohn did a series of synagogues exploring his views about the intersection of church designs/typologies and the Jewish faith

Mendelsohn wanted to design Synagogues that differed from churches because of the flux of visitors relative to the various holidays, which differs from a church that usually maintains a steady number of visitors
