This document indicates that the regulations for builder licensing and mandatory third-party warranties on new homes will be implemented after April 30, 1999
Due to the financial collapse of New Home Warranty of British Columbia, their registered builders required additional time to register with a different warranty provider committed to offer the new, stronger warranties required by the Homeowner Protection Act
The residential builder licensing and mandatory home warranty regulations came into effect on January 1, 1999
New homes constructed with building permits applied for on or after July 1, 1999 must meet the requirements of the Homeowner Protection Act and regulations
