L'album è il secondo realizzato da Syd come solista, dopo The Madcap Laughs nello stesso anno. Il disco è prodotto da David Gilmour in collaborazione con Richard Wright e Rick vi suona le tastiere in tutti i pezzi. L'album è estremamente godibile e rappresenta l'ultima esplosione di talento di Barrett, particolarmente in piccole gemme come Dominoes, Love song e Gigolo aunt. Wright dal canto suo aggiunge il suo hammond e il suo pianoforte, evitando le tastiere psichedeliche di Piper e contribuendo così a conferire al disco la sua grazia sinistra.

I musicisti erano quindi: Syd Barrett: chitarre e voce, David Gilmour: basso, Richard Wright: tastiere, Jerry Shirley: batteria.
