ANNIVERSARY CD: To celebrate the band's 20th anniversary in October, Noise Records and Virgin Steele are thinking to release an overview of the best of their songs. They are actually doing 2 CDs. One will be the early things, plus unreleased/new things, and... the second CD, will most likely be from NOBLE SAVAGE to the present time!

Assassination Attempt On David Defeis! - Sunday night (May 13, 2001) a car hit a telephonepole in front of David DeFeis´ Studio ended up right on his mixing console. Unfortunately the whole block´s powersupply went down, too. Not only David´s eagerness to work was brought to an abrupt halt, but also the Chinese restaurant on the corner went out of business for a couple of days. David hopes to get back to work on his re-releases and maybe we´ll also be able to get Chinese Food... really, let's hope for a speedy recovery brother!
After the end of the "House of Atreus-world tour"
(in a "co-headliner" bill with Hammerfall and
Freedom Call, as support-band) Virgin Steele are actually
working to the re-releases of "Guardians of the Flame"
& "Virgin Steele I".
A lot of shows, anyway, have been recorded for a future live
album with the new touring drummer (Frank Gilchriest was not able
to make that tour even if, he is still with the band) called:
Frank Zummo jr.! This guy is in a Long Island "cover band"
& everyone who owns the "Marriage of heaven and hell -
part II" album, probably, has already heard him playing
drums before, because, he recorded own the title-track of that
album!

THE HOUSE OF ATREUS ACT-2 is finally out.
A GREAT NEWS is that this SECOND ACT is itself a DOUBLE ALBUM of
90 minutes in lenght with a 24 page color booklet ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
A previous single CD, out in the middle of the last year with
two songs taken from THE HOUSE OF ATREUS act-2 & rarities,
called "Magik Fire Music" has got the following track-list

The bass player Rob DeMartino saluted the band for workin' as
producer and to a personal project inspired by Whitesnake &
by the 70' blues....
For few months, a new person (Jeff Beavers from Immortally
Committed) was in the band at his place and, with this guy Virgin
Steele, presented the new line up on March 3rd in a super-special
show of 30 min.
They also played with success at the MARCH OF METAL MELTDOWN
FESTIVAL in New Jersey and, even... you can hear David plays,
like guest, in one song of the new Immortally Committed - 70
minutes Cd available ($12 U.S.A.) writing, for further info, at
this adress.
Unfortunatly, Virgin Steele had problems with Jeff, who was
stopped (no money to his ex-wife) when he wanted to get his
passport from a police station the 29th of June! In effect, they
told him he can't exit from the United States so he was fired
right away & David himself recorded the bass parts on tape in
one night, so that they could play their show the 1st of July in
Balingen, Germany (BANG YOUR HEAD FESTIVAL)...
Here is the real reason why someone may have missed the bass
player, because there wasn't one! Great applause to Virgin Steele
& to Frank Gilchriest and Edward! Jan Eckert of Iron Savior
played the ROCK MACHINA FESTIVAL, the 9th of July in Moncofa,
Spain, as an alternate for Jeff. Thanks Jan!
The new bassist called Josh is a six-string
mastermind: very tecnichal to see!!
"Guardians of the Flame" will be soon re-released (maybe with the original title, maybe with the title "Book of Burning") with a demo recorded two-years ago with Jack Starr (V.S. former guitatist) called "Sacred Demos". Three titles are "Hellfire Woman", "The Chosen One", "Rain of Fire".
Another interesting fact is that, after the teather-version
of Klytaimnestra (the House of Atreus-Opera), in June 2001 it's
plannified the teather-edition of the Marriage of Heaven
and Hell-trilogy too!!!
This last-one is called: DIE REBELLEN and, if you are
