| FRANK GILCHRIEST is going to appear on drums as SESSION/SPECIAL GUEST in the coming HOLY MOTHER CD called AGORAPHOBIA out in these days. With the album near completion, technical problems with the drum-tracks and their previous recruited drummer John Macoluso (TNT, Yngwie Malmsteen, ARC) busy recording elsewhere caused Holy Mother to enlist Hard-Hitting drummer Frank Gilchriest (Virgin Steele) to re-record the drum tracks. The result is the mother of all HOLY MOTHER Albums, Agoraphobia. This brilliant performance by the Long Island, New York based metal band is being received as a landmark effort!!! |

| 20th ANNIVERSARY RELEASES STATUS! To celebrate the Virgin Steele's 20th anniversary 'The Book Of Burning' and 'Hymns To Victory' will be released early January 2002. 'The Book Of Burning' features the best songs from 'Virgin Steele I' and 'Guardians Of The Flame' chosen by David DeFeis himself and re-recorded with the current Virgin Steele line-up. The album will also feature eight previously unreleased bonus tracks. "Hymns To Victory" will contain Virgin Steele's greatest tracks from the last 20 years. All tracks are re-mixed and re-mastered by David DeFeis, with many of them re-arranged and partly re-recorded. It will also contain two previously unreleased bonus tracks. |

to the Metal Blade site, the double CD fascimile of
"Virgin Steele I" and "Guardians Of The
Flame" will be released in Europe on October 10.
Noise Records is apparently aware of this release, and a
source within the company told me to "wait and see
what happens". I have no knowledge or experience
with copyrights, trademarks, and liscensing, but my
instinct is that this release may be legal, but only
through some sort of loophole. The name Virgin Steele is,
however a registered trademark (from David DeFeis), so I
predict the release may be renamed something like The
Best Of Jack Starr or some such nonsense. Bear in mind
that this is all speculation on my part. On an editorial
note, I must emphatically state that I will NOT purchase
this release and I encourage all Virgin Steele fans to ignore
it as well. It should be relegated into the category
of a BOOTLEG, and this site will not treat it as an
official Virgin Steele release. Therefore, no information
will be found within the discography section. The sole
purpose behind this album is for Jack Starr to capitalize
off of the success David DeFeis earned for Virgin Steele,
and I cannot accept that. Though a talented guitarist,
Mr. Starr is a liar and seeks only to slander David
DeFeis and get revenge for being kicked out of the band.
This re-release (shittly printed in CD directly from the old standard-vinyls 'cause the original studio-masters are reserved propriety of David Defeis /nda) and his Guardians Of The Flame project
are all a part of that revenge, and are not worthy of a

to read through all Virgin Steele booklets and find out
if she did some singing on any of the band´s releases.

| ASSASSINATION
ATTEMPT ON DAVID DEFEIS! Sunday night (May 13, 2001) a car hit a telephonepole in front of David DeFeis´ Studio ended up right on his mixing console. Unfortunately the whole block´s powersupply went down, too. Not only David´s eagerness to work was brought to an abrupt halt, but also the Chinese restaurant on the corner went out of business for a couple of days. David hopes to get back to work on his re-releases and maybe we´ll also be able to get Chinese Food... really, let's hope for a speedy recovery brother! |
