NO PROBLEM! BUILD THIS :
Use your garage both for car and train at same time! So I have builded a 5.30x1.30 meters wood plane. Layout plan can go up when car recovery is nedeed, and it goes down when you want operate on layout. The plan suspension use 4 building/ hill-climbing wires (350 Kg maximum load each one) and some wheels to drive wires along the walls , up to a boat manual winch. 4 wires are joined with a double 3.5 mm steel wire ; Layout can move up or down manually. Winch peak load is up to 500 Kg. Total layout weight is about 90 Kg. When layout is on Up position, 4 fixed safety ponts lock layout on upper position. The system today runs fine. Only a check over final steel wires state is required to avoid disasters (!) .

As you can see, frame is so strong to sustain me..(75 Kg) . On left high side, you can see steel wires, used on final manual winch. To reduce total weight and allows manteinance, all wooden parts not strictly necessary for stabily was removed after tracks plan definition.
