A short interview with AbuRaf70, pure
Stunts spirit at work!
1)
Happy to meet you, AbuRaf70! You are one of the most appreciated Stunts
drivers, thanks to your engagement in the races and your marvellous Stunts
spirit. I think that many of us would to know your Stunts background
before you reached the Stunts racing world on the web. Would you tell us
about it?
Stunts...
this wonderful and absorbing game! My son got it and, at the beginning, we
played it in “black and white", on a 486, with him and my grandsons.
But only in the weekends, because we had two works and there was not time
to play in other days...
2)
We can’t define you a young driver, by now… Sure there’s no
age limits to race, anyway it’s quite singular (and really
pleasant!) to find a driver with your age. How did you reach Stunts
Racing world and what about your first experiences?
As
I’ve just said, when I worked I had not time to play, but when the
day of my retirement arrived, I began to enjoy playing with the
computer, mainly with Colin McRae Rally... One day, by chance,
navigating on Internet my son found an invitation to participate in
a Stunts competition organized from Alan Rotoi. He knew how much I
liked Stunts, so he gave me the link... Quickly I contacted Alan
Rotoi and he accepted my participation... What a wonderful age that
one… There were 69 racers and I arrived 48th in my first
race. I didn’t know any tricks that today I know (thanks to the
help that Alan Rotoi, then Ayrton and Gutix, and now, Chulk gave
me...), and I, my son and my grandsons ran only in NORH modality.
Then we discovered the Replay Handling improving progressively, and
in the last competition organized by Alan Rotoi, I arrived 6th, what
served me to be integrated in their team: the great MeganiuM Aces
High... I could not believe it...!!!
3)
You are known for your continuous little improvements that lead you
step by step until to reach very good performances. What is your way
to improve your time? Do you arrange step by step the whole lap (starting
for the initial tract) after a first attempt or what?
When
I begin a new race, first of all I drive with automatic gear to know
the track. Then, I write on a sheet the points that serve me as
references. Later, I try to race improving my times in each point...
I still have some trouble to manage well the car... For example,
when I individuate a shortcut, I am not able to avail it at once,
and above all for that reason my progresses are not so fast...
4)
But now let’s talk about this season! Some podiums and, above all,
a marvellous victory, the first one in career, at “Geometry”
track, the 4th of the season! What about your sensation after you
knew to have won?
Geometry
has been my most grandiose participation in a competition of Stunts...
Without keep in count that I got the maximum score... I sent to all
my friendships the comment that has been written about my
performance, and mainly: AbuRaaaaaaaaf70!!!!!!!!!
5)
There was a track/race that you liked very much this year?
Sure
I liked Geometry very much, because it was suitable for my way to
race... I was also very competitive on Funny and now, I hope to be
able to finish in good place in The Arenas...
6)
And what about your favourite car?
Without
any doubt... my favourite car is the March Indy, I consider it one
of the best...
7)
OK, now some words about SDR. As you know, this is the last season,
and you are one of the 2 drivers who have taken part at all the
races in RH championships. Which are your thoughts about the
contest?
Here
I found the tracks wherewith I enjoyed more than other ones, because
they always include something that made them amusing: shortcuts,
ramps, etc. I’m very sad that, for personal reasons of the
manager, the contest is going to its end… I will be really
bewildered for its closure…
8)
But SDR will close only after ISM 2008, and you should be admitted
without problems. Will you participate? What about your target in it?
With
big pleasure I will participate of ISM 2008... I already took part
at the
previous edition and
I enjoyed very much… I hope that this year will be the same thing…
9)
Last point is for you! Use this free space to tell all us a whatever
thought about you and Stunts world racing!
As
I already said previously, I began to run recently, exactly in 2004,
when I was already retired. Therefore, I lost several seasons before
that date, above all the competitions organized by Zak...Now, facing
the possibility that some managers stop their contests make me sad.
I consider Stunts a totally healthy game, also fascinating. I hope
Krys has the necessary time to manage his contest, and that Zak
comes back to manage his one starting from January 2008. I also hope
CTG and JTK continue, like Paleke, here in Argentina.
For
that reason I say: Go Stunts...!!! Live forever...!!!
Thanks
very much for this interview AbuRaf70. Above all thanks for your
wonderful Stunts spirit. As it has been written in ZakStunts a lot
of time ago, by your races you paint every day Stunts with its true
colours. Your Stunts spirit leads all us to renew our Stunts spirit
while we try not to forget the child inside everyone of us. Really
thanks for all this!
