Sony recently announced four budget point-and-shoot cameras; the company is following up today with seven new higher-end Cyber-shots for more serious (or well-heeled) consumers.

Sony announced three new mainstream digital cameras that come standard with a high-definition component output. In combination with an optional $30 cable, the cameras can take advantage of resolutions of up to 1080i (1920x1080 pixels interlaced), rather than showing grainy pictures in standard TV resolution (480i).
