Le corazzate di classe Queen Elizabeth hanno rappresentato il top della produzione navale della Prima Guerra Mondiale. Ben corazzate, con artiglieri poderose quanto precise e letali, potentissime e soprattutto velocissime, hanno rappresentato l'anello di congiunzione tra le corazzate e gli incrociatori da battaglia! Erano infatti veloci quanto i migliori incrociatori da battaglia tedeschi e allo stesso tempo dotate di una corazzatura al pari delle migliori corazzate inglesi (vedasi la classe Iron Duke). Il loro punto di forza era la velocità, per questo si veda la tabella sottostante:

da questa emerge che la classe Queen Elizabeth era nettamente superiore a qualunque corazzata dell'epoca!

In guerra si comportarono splendidamente:

• allo Jutland salvarono dalla distruzione la squadra degli incrociatori da battaglia di Beatty e combatterono in maniera fantastica contro gli incrociatori da battaglia tedeschi di Hipper sfruttando la maggior gittata dei propri calibri e tenendoli sempre a debita distanza;

• sempre allo Jutland la Malaya si trovò per 10 minuti con il timone fuori uso contro l'intera Hochseeflotte riuscendone ad uscire malconcia ma ancora a galla, dimostrando di essere una superba incassatrice!

Durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, seppur profondamente rimodernate, combatterono con onore nel Mediterraneo dimostrando ancora velocità, notevoli doti di incassatrici e superba precisione al tiro (vedere la notte di Matapan!).

Erano insomma le migliori corazzate costruite durante la Prima Guerra Mondiali, delle vere fuoriclasse dei mari!

La Barham partecipò alla battaglia dello Jutland insieme alle gemelle Malaya, Warspite e Valliant, era l'ammiraglia  della V Squadra da battaglia comandata dal contramiraglio Hugh Evan Thomas, aggregata ed alle dipendenze della I Squadra degli incrociatori da battaglia comandata dal vice ammiraglio Sir David Beatty.

Uscì dalla battaglia coprendosi di gloria ma anche seriamente danneggiata dallo scontro titanico contro gli incrociatori da battaglia tedeschi di Hipper.

FNAL SENTENCE OF THE SHINANO

The battleships of class Queen Elizabeth has represented the top of the naval production of the First World war.

Well armor, with artillerymen mighty as precise and lethal, powerful and above all fast, have represented the ring of conjunction between the battleships and the battle cruisers!

They were in fact as fast as the best German battle cruisers and at the same time endowed with a corazzatura to the peer of the best battleships English (see him the class Iron Duke).

Their point of strength was the speed, for this the underlying chart is seen:

from this emerges that the class Queen Elizabeth was clearly superior to whatever battleship of the epoch!

In war they splendidly behaved:

to the Jutland they saved from the destruction the team of the battle cruisers of Beatty and they fought in fantastic way against the German battle cruisers of Hipper exploiting the most greater range of his/her own calibers and always holding them to proper distance;

always to the Jutland the Malaya was found out for 10 minutes with the rudder I use against the whole Hochseeflotte succeeding to go out battered of it but anchors floating, showing to be a superb incassatrice!

During the Second World war, even though deeply you modernize, they fought with honor in the Mediterranean still showing speed, notable dowries of incassatrici and proud person precision to the draught (to see the night of Matapan!).

They were in short the best battleships built during the First World war of the true champion of the seas!
