donna-bambina. Una voce bellissima. Una Björk più semplice e diretta per
certi versi, ma dotata di una carica emotiva travolgente. Testi che
diventano poesie, impalpabili, rarefatti ma al tempo stesso così tiepidi
e vivi da dare l'impressione di poterli...accarezzare. Il magico regalo di
una piccola fata.
Ho amato la musica di Emiliana fin dal
primo momento. L'ho "incontrata" una notte - guarda caso...tutte
le cose migliori mi accadono di notte. Il video era Baby Blue. Una
canzone che è diventata una sorta di mantra per me...e che, a mio avviso,
rappresenta pienamente Emiliana, la sua sensibilità, il suo mondo.
A baby woman. A wonderful voice. Kind of
a Björk - a simpler, and more direct one, for some aspects. But her
emotional charge is overwhelming. Her lyrics become poems, intangible,
ethereal but -at the same time- so warm and full of life to make you feel
like you can...caress them. A little fairy's magic gift.
I've loved Emiliana's music from the very
first moment. I "met" her one night - no surprise...all my best
things come to me at night time. It was the Baby Blue video. That
song's become a sort of a mantra to me...and - I think - it's a suitable
portrait of Emiliana: it reflects her world, her sensibility.

Emiliana's
biography
Emiliana Torrini
è una giovane cantante metà islandese e metà italiana. Suo padre,
Salvatore Torrini, è infatti un gestore di ristoranti italiano
costantemente in viaggio per l’Europa, fatto che spiega l’origine del
nome non propriamente nordico. Le sue radici così particolari hanno
influito sulla sua formazione musicale, facendo avvicinare Emiliana sia
alla canzone italiana che alla tradizione folk Europea, passando per il
jazz di cui era appassionata la nonna materna. Il suo esordio avviene nel
1999 con l’album "Love in the time of science", prodotto
dall’ex Tears for Tears Roland Orzabal, e registrato negli studi di Bath
in Inghilterra. Grazie ai viaggi al seguito del padre, Emiliana ha potuto
conoscere culture diverse tra loro e assorbire un’infinità di stimoli
molto particolari. Tutto questo confluisce nella sua musica, fatta di
arrangiamenti elettronici attorno a cui si sviluppano atmosfere eteree e
avvolgenti.
