1949
A brand-new spy aircraft, the X-1, begins to fly over Russia.
The first Volkswagen Beetle is sold in the United States.
Cadillac's one-millionth car is produced November 25, 1949.
GM opens "Transportation Unlimited", its first show since 1940, in New York.
With the dawning of 1949 there cames a new and different body style from Buick. They call it the "hardtop". Holes in the hood side are also new and that goes on to become a Buick hallmark. With wider grilles, parking lights are now placed atop the Buick's fenders with spearlike chrome strips trailing them. Gone are the balloon fenders and running boards, an heritage of the Buicks of the 40ies. Belt lines, now the very top edge of the Buick's front fenders, run straight back from them, just a few inches below the side windows, fading into the bulging curved rear fenders. Within these fenders are frenched taillights like these of a 1956 model Vette.
This year Cadillac introduces the Coupe de Ville, which is also Cadillac's first "hardtop" stiled automobile.
Chrysler automobiles starts with the key.
Con l'inizio del 1949 arriva da Buick un nuovo e diverso stile di carrozzeria chiamato "Hardtop".
Dei fori lungo le fiancate del cofano motore sono un altra nuova trovata, destinata a divenire uno degli elementi stilistici che caratterizzeranno maggiormente le future Buick, al punto da diventare quasi un marchio di fabbrica.
Le Chrysler vanno in moto semplicemente girando la chiave. Presto i pulsanti di avviamento verranno dimenticati.
Quest'anno la Cadillac presenta la Coupe de Ville, che e' anche la prima automobile Cadillac disegnata secondo i canoni del nuovo stile "hardtop".
La Cadillac produce la sua milionesima automobile il 25 novembre 1949.
La GM inaugura a New York "Transportation Unlimited", la sua prima grande esposizione dal 1940.
Il primo Maggiolino Volkswagen viene venduto negli Stati Uniti.

We do provide duplicates of the multimedial files of the Collection on a customized DVD-ROM on a (1) cost-recovery basis.
Almost all the digital copies of the films are good quality Hi-Res editable videos.
The videos in this Collection are available in different format, size and definition. We can suggest you the right one for the use you have in mind.
PRIVATE USE: home TV vision (DVD-Divx player), PC, iPod.
WE LICENSE FOOTAGE from our Collections for: multimedial creations on CD or DVD, TV commercials, film or TV programs, documentary Productions, web sites, marketing/ad campaigns, video email, electronic kiosks, trade shows, business seminars, cultural events, museums, expositions... and more.
Hi-Res videos from our Collections are available on DVD, CD or directly in your inbox. Clips and movies can also be downloaded from our servers using a PW or uploaded by us to your FTP.

(1) It is possible to obtain digital duplicates of the multimedial files (movies, videos, audio documents, and Virtual Reality files) from Romano-Archives for research, teaching, general interest user information, and private study purposes.
The fees charged for these files are on a cost-recovery basis.
The size, run-time, quality, and detailed informations regarding any multimedial file are indicated in the list inside our demo-DVD, where you can find images and/or animated gifs illustrating any file, 10 demo-videos, 2 for every different quality class, and 10 samples regarding the other kind of multimedial files composing the collection.
The files are available on a customized DVD-ROM.
Billing is done when the order is fulfilled. Payment instructions will follow. Normal turn around time for requests is 3 weeks. Rush (2-3 business days) is available for an additional fee of 40 Euros. Romano-Archives will provide up to 250 (or about 20% of this Collection) multimedial files to a single requesting party.

I video in alta risoluzione delle nostre Collezioni sono disponibili su DVD, CD o direttamente via email. Film e video possono anche essere scaricati dai nostri server con una password o caricati da noi sul vostro FTP.
Tutti i video compresi in questa Collezione sono disponibili in differenti formati, dimensioni e livelli di risoluzione. Saremo lieti di suggerirvi il più adatto alle vostre esigenze: visione su TV (DVD-Divx player), PC o IPod.
