- CORRADO ROMUALDO WITH POPE GIOVANNI PAOLO II-

”If Romualdo Corrado is to be remembered in the future, among the main reasons for his fame will certainly be his colors.
They are soft and velvety, full of a particular brightness which gives them their special appeal.
One senses a deep and rather mysterious motion behind these paintings which rather than hitting you all at once requires you to study them more and more to catch theur full meaning.
Corrado’s paintings are prepared in a special technique that he himself invented. What makes the colors glitetr is a layer of sand stuck on the canvas with a special glue.
It is a rather complicated technique which the artist keeps a closely guarded secret.
Corrado comes from the Art Academy of Naples. He has taught art since 1961….
…Corrado’s symbolism is concentrated on a particular type of Nordic Woman blonde, long legged and blue eyed.He seems haunted by these high-cheeked women.
They are represented with fruit, flowers, cats, and other animals, and they seem to share a mysterious link with the animals and the nature…”
