Monkey Island 5: When's it Coming

This page is dedicated to the to-be-made Monkey Island 5. So far all LucasArts have told us is that Monkey Island 5 will be out sometime but have told us that Monkey Island 5 is not in the making at the moment.

A few weeks ago The Legend of Monkey Island posted news related to the production of Monkey Island 5.

"On a German site called Okay Soft, it is already possible to preorder Monkey Island 5. Do they know something we don't? Or is it just an error? Very interesting, but also very weird, since we haven't had any real evidence regarding Monkey Island 5 yet"

The Legend of Monkey Island e-mailed Okay Soft about this and their reply was:

"Hello, sorry, but till now we don´t have more information. We only know that this game is in production. Please ask again later:-)"

They said later that they got the information from a magazine. I don't have the name of the magazine but chances are it is something like PC Gamer who have mentioned MI5 in the past. Although it was unlikley that there was anything to this I decided to e-mail LucasArts anyway.

"On this website you can pre-order Monkey Island 5. We thought this was a mistake but when we e-mailed them they said "We only know that this game is in production." Till now we have not heard anything about the production of MI5. Could you get some more information on the project and if you can't could you please reply to confirm you go this e-mail anyway"

They replied with: "There is no Monkey Island 5 in production. I can tell you that much."

This obviously doesn't mean that there are plans for Monkey Island 5 but right now LucasArts will not tell us anything (as expected). I expect we will hear more in the coming year about Monkey Island 5.

Next I went to Okay Soft myself asking them what magazine you saw MI5 in, could you pre-order it and do you have to give money yet. They replied the next day:

"sorry, but we don´t know which magazine it was. You can order the game of course, and we will tell you via mail the newest releases and the price."

Not happy yet I went back to LucasArts asking them has anyone even thought of making the game but I got the same answer: "Honestly, there hasn't been any talk of pre-production for the game here. Sorry :-( "

I still think there must have been in three years. More updates as they come :)
