Quella di Gianmarino Joni (titolare dello studio) e quella di Patrizia Santini sono due tra le voci piu' rappresentative Gianmarino Joni nato nella Repubblica di San Marino dopo aver frequentato la scuola per Interpreti di Bologna inizia giovanissimo a calcare i palcoscenici d'Italia interpretando ruoli nella commedia classica in qualita' di narratore ed attor giovane anche con la regia di Giorgio Albertazzi; nel frattempo contagiato dal morbo radiofonico apre una struttura (nei primi anni '80) che possa supportare logisticamente le prime radio dell'epoca; dopo un periodo di doppiaggio presso Cinecitta' a Roma, si rende conto che la sua principale aspirazione e' sempre quella di poter creare uno studio semplice ma efficace, piccolo ma professionale che possa ritagliarsi un suo spazio nel panorama radiofonico nazionale
Ecco allora che nel frattempo, per esprimere la sua creativita' conduce serate in feste e discoteche sia come vocalist (oggi tanto di moda) che come dj a 360°; e dopo anni di esperienza radiofonica come conduttore, speaker e programmatore durante gli anni '80 e '90 (vedi RAI, Radio Sabbia, Radio Gamma, Radio Arancia, Radio Mediterranea, e dal 1993 Radio San Marino RTV tanto per citarne alcune) ritorna al suo antico amore, cioe' la struttura che vi stiamo presentando La voce femminile piu' rappresentativa dello studio Contatto, Patrizia Santini, ribadisce una delle nostre caratteristiche principali: la professionalita', l'esperienza ma soprattutto la versatilita'

Radio Ice Cerenkov Experiment (RICE) The South Pole - Site of the RICE Experiment Abstract (Short form): Cosmic rays have historically been the source of much of our information about the extraterrestrial world
We describe a new experimental effort to detect ultra high energy electron neutrinos through their interactions with ice molecules in the Antarctic icecap, based on the principle of 'radio coherence'
Experimentally, we measure a long-wavelength (radiofrequency) pulse resulting from this interaction
A prototype experiment (Radio Ice Cerenkov Experiment, or 'RICE') presently operating at the South Pole is described
Beginning in 1995, we have begun burying an array of radiowave receivers in the Antarctic ice and measure the radiation produced when UHE neutrinos interact with the ice
The detection scheme takes advantage of a known effect called 'Coherent Radio Emission', which is ideally matched to this type of experiment
As the shower moves through the ice, it emits radiation ('Cerenkov radiation') over a wide range of electromagnetic frequencies, ranging from high frequency, low wavelength visible light (wavelengths of approximately 0.000005 meters) and longer wavelength, radiowave frequencies (wavelengths approximately 10 cm - 1m, corresponding to the frequency range that a typical FM receiver might use.) The RICE experiment aims to measure the long-wavelength radiation with standard radiowave receivers

IPS is the apparent fluctuation in intensity of the radio emission from a compact radio source
It is due to diffraction of the radio waves as they pass through the turbulent solar wind in interplanetary space
Compact radio sources, e.g
quasars, scintillate more than extended radio sources
Professor Tony Hewish realized this technique would be a useful way of picking out quasars, and designed a large radio telescope to do this
(Radio telescopes are very sensitive instruments, and it takes little radio interference from nearby on earth to swamp the cosmic signals; unfortunately, this is a feature of all radio astronomy.) Six or eight weeks after starting the survey I became aware that on occasions there was a bit of 'scruff' on the records, which did not look exactly like a scintillating source, and yet did not look exactly like man-made interference either
We did not really believe that we had picked up signals from another civilization, but obviously the idea had crossed our minds and we had no proof that it was an entirely natural radio emission
