Admiralty Coefficient

Useful to evaluate the effect of limited variations of main parameters.

Typical usage: input Displacement, Speed, Power and then press the Calculate button at the Coefficient TextBox (blue arrow).

You can now change displacement and see the predicted new power or speed, just pressing the relevant Calculate button.

A Must Have tool for Naval Architects, Ship and Yacht Designers and Captain to quickly deal with calculations involving Froude number, Volumetric Froude number, Admiral Coefficient, Shallow water effect.

  1. Swipe your finger to change between the pages dedicated to the different tasks. Input your data in the Text boxes. Specify in which Units you will input data and in which Units you want the result. Tap Calculate buttons to obtain the results. Use the results for new calculations in the same or another page.

Tap the help button in each page to open an help box, tap the “i” button on the bottom right of the page for info about the software and the link to support.

Froude Number

The basics of any Ship Power Prediction.

Input Length and Speed and then calculate the Froude Number with the Calculate button (blue arrow) at the Froude Number text box.

At the same way calculate Speed for a given Length and Froude Number, or the Length for a given Froude Number and Speed.

Volumetric Froude

Used for high speed vessels to account for dynamic forces.

As per Froude Number, calculate Volumetric Froude from a given displacement and speed pressing the Calculate button (blue arrow) at the side of the Volumetric Froude Text box.

Shallow Water

What happens when running in shallow water?

Input Depth and press the Calculate button (blue arrow) at Critical Speed text box to know the critical speed at given depth.

Input also Length to calculate the factor between Residual Resistance at given depth and at unlimited depth.
