Special Mr.Pinky Notes:  La copertina di "Relics" originale era un design esclusivo di Nick Mason, perché la EMI non era disposta a pagare più di 25 sterline, mentre l’Hipgnosis ne richiedeva almeno 150. Il disegno era uno schizzo a penna di Mason, disegnato da lui stesso, e ritrae un complesso macchinario che riunisce in sè differenti strumenti musicali (organo, trombe, tamburi…). Alla ristampa inglese fu cambiata solo la scritta del titolo, "RELICS PINK FLOYD", in origine bianca, e stavolta fu colorata in rosa. Da notare che la stessa scritta, in alcuni paesi di lingua spagnola, fu sostituita con la scritta in lingua madre, "RELIQUIAS PINK FLOYD" (come in Argentina e Uruguay), mentre in Messico riportava stranamente solo "PINK FLOYD". La versione rimasterizzata digitale inglese del 1994 ebbe come motivo, invece, un modello tridimensionale di nave ideato dalla società Model Solution, sul disegno originale dello stesso Mason, modellino sembra tuttora in possesso del batterista, come testimoniato nel libro autobiografico.

La versione americana del disco, invece, uscì con una copertina diversa: una strana bottiglia a forma di faccia con un effetto quadri-dimensionale, disegnata da David Coleman, che riproduceva sembra una maschera atzeca. Parecchi paesi seguirono lo stesso esempio, facendo uscire questo tipo di copertina, invece del disegno di Mason.

In Australia, la EMI fece uscire il disco con una differente copertina, che ritraeva undici monete antiche, poggiate sopra una vecchia carta nautica del Settecento; e fu l'unico caso al mondo.

Un caso curioso: la prima edizione di Relics uscita in Venezuela riporta lo stesso disegno di Nick Mason, ma gli sono state aggiunte sei piante di canapa indiana; non si conosce il motivo per cui la Odeon venezuelana fece uscire il disco con questa curiosità, unica nel suo genere.
