Not commit adultery

Sixth Commandment

If man offends God by sin, it does, for the most part, attracted by pleasure. The difficulty of adjusting the instinct of pleasure is great, especially with regard to the pleasure procured by the taste and the tactile sensations and perceptions, and among these, the most serious lack is the vice of lust.

Lust

Is the simplest form to express their own selfishness, this is a temptation that lasts as long as life itself. It is the greedy pursuit of bodily pleasure and disorderly, is one of the seven deadly sins and is the cause of all the impure acts condemned by the Lord, beginning adultery.
"It is a disordered desire for or inordinate enjoyment of sexual pleasure. Sexual pleasure is morally disordered when sought for itself, isolated from its procreative and unitive purposes".
(Catechism of the Catholic Church 2351).

Adultery

It is the most serious form of sexual impurity and is committed when a husband has carnal relations with a married woman, as it violates their marriage bond, as well as when an individual unmarried has intercourse with a married woman, both commit the sin of adultery. Who does not avoid fornication will eventually fall in adultery. The prohibition of adultery is included the prohibition of all kinds of impurities that can contaminate the body and that includes any intimate lust soul.

The Bible describes the punishment of carnal lust, besides adultery. In Genesis, for example, we read of the judgment by the daughter in law against Judah (Gen 38,24); in Deuteronomy reads the precept, "of the daughters of Israel is no courtesan" (Dt 23,17). Tobias exhorts: "Look, my son, from all immodest acts " (Tb 4:13). And Ecclesiasticus says: "Be ashamed to look at the sinful woman".
(He 41,25).

In the Gospel, Jesus Christ he declares that the heart will issue the adulteries and dishonest acts that stain the man (Mt 15,19). The apostle Paul frequently said, with hot words, this vice, and elsewhere insists: "Flee from sexual immorality!" (1 Cor 6,18). "Do not interfere with fornicators" (1 Cor 5,9); "In the midst of you, they are not specified not even incontinence, impurity of any kind and avarice" (Ep 5,3); "Dishonest, adulterers, effeminate and pederasts, not inherit the kingdom of God".
(1 Co 6,9).

Flee from sexual immorality; any sin that a man commits is held outside the body, but the fornicator sins on his own body (1 Cor 6,18). To those of Thessalonica the same St. Paul said: "Do not abandon yourselves to the passions as the heathen do" (1Th 4,5). The filling belly causes lust, as the Lord said: "Be careful that your hearts do not have nothing to do with dissipation and drunkenness".
(Lk 21,34).

Impurity

There when seeking carnal pleasure at all costs, when we run into the arms of a prostitute, when the marriage is performed the sexual act without order, when you facilitate the separation and divorce, when you build coexistence. Impurities is to forget that "sex" is not just enjoyment, but mostly affection, fellowship, kindness, goodness, listening, sensitivity, understanding, charity.

If man is adjusted according to reason in this area, then it is a chaste man. Christianity has brought this virtue to his inner root, demanding, before the righteousness of works, the morality of intention, integrity of mind: "He was told not commit adultery. But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman lustfully, he has already committed adultery with her in his heart "(Mt 5:27). Jesus was connected with the genuine meaning of Mosaic precepts. The Mosaic Law, not only with the sixth commandment said: "you shall not commit adultery", but also with the ninth commandment, "you shall not covet your neighbor's wife".
(Exodus 20.14 to 17).

Fornication

Is the carnal union between a man and a woman not married, as well as premarital sex and complete sexual acts between boyfriends.
  • Rape is sexual violence against a defenseless person.
  • Pedophilia is the abuse and exploitation of children for sexual purposes.
  • Homosexuality is the relationship between people of the same sex, the Bible condemns these words: "Do not lie with a male as one does with a woman; it is an abomination" (Leviticus 18:22).
  • Prostitution is the sale of sexual services for a fee.
  • Incest is carnal union between members of the same family.
  • Pornography is the print and video broadcasting indecent.
  • Masturbation is the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs for pleasure.
  • The onanism are incomplete sexual acts to prevent fertilization. (Gn 38,4 to 10).
The carnal impurities is the privileged way of Satan to corrupt a soul, because it is the easiest. So we have to watch (Mt 26:41), because it can drive away from the faith and devotion, corrupt body and soul, drag towards the unbridled pleasure, idolizing the flesh, make it evil.

This is why St. Paul exhorts us to abstain from unclean things, to enter the kingdom of heaven and not be like the pagans who do not know God. The apostle teaches us to overcome the passions of the flesh in order to reach our spiritual growth: "As for fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; the same goes for the vulgarities, nonsense, and triviality: all things are inconvenient. You make rather thanksgiving! Why, you know well, no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man - who is an idolater - has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with vain words: for because of these things the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Do not be so nothing in common with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. Look what is pleasing to the Lord, and not fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them".
(Eph 5.3 to 11).

Do not commit adultery means, basically, educate themselves to true love that respects others as children of God, and yourself as the temple of the Holy Spirit? Our sexuality, willed by the Lord, is a powerful source of energy, if you lived in an intelligent and evangelical way. It helps us to love our neighbor in his human and spiritual wholeness, and figure and anticipation of that Love that we will find perfectly fulfilled in the eternal light of the sky.

Chastity

It means to live sexuality according to the plan of God, avoiding the malice of heart. Chastity is to have in our heart a great love that makes us look at things and creatures with the pure eyes of God. St. Paul also speaks to us of immodesty. It is the opposite of chastity; is any behavior or attitude, any thought and desire that offend the sanctity and beauty of our body. There are thoughts, words, actions, lectures, shows, entertainments that cloud the purity of the heart. Evangelical chastity is all. It makes us capable of loving fully and in a holy way, in full mastery of the body, heart and mind. Without light and without grace, man becomes a brute and performs acts that generate disgust, contempt of themselves and their partners, dissatisfaction, anger, disturbance of consciousness, agitation.

As always, the Fathers of the Church have spent words to make us realize how great obscenity and danger of sensual passions, because they are sins that bring a real scourge and cause the ruin.

Reflection

Don't commit impure acts

The carnal impurity is the privileged way of Satan to corrupt a soul, since it is the easiest way. Sex is not an evil, but it can turn away from faith and devotion, corrupt body and soul, drag towards unbridled pleasure, idolize the flesh, make evil. Lust extinguishes the light of the spirit and kills grace. Without light and without grace man becomes a brute and performs actions that lead to disgust, contempt for himself and his partner, and lead to dissatisfaction, anger, disturbance of conscience, and agitation.

Sexual pleasure is immediate easy and intense, it is like the blazing heat that does not die out that leads us to seek it indefinitely and thus leads us, to a vice so powerful that leads to the enslavement of passions and is the most shameful and humiliating slavery that leads to a horizon poor in life that dehumanizes. With this vice one renounces one’s dignity and becomes like beasts, sometimes it leads to dissipate money, destroy the peace of the family, the peace of the heart and corrupts the soul. When it is understood that the heart sinks in the passion or in a sinful love, it is necessary immediately to abandon those affections, otherwise the amorous flames will increase more and more and an inextinguishable fire will develop. If the human heart is not restrained, it leads into the abyss of impurity which is the main way that leads into the infernal abyss.

We must not make of pleasure our god, be succumbed to the desires and passions of the flesh driven by the impetuous wind of lust, we must refrain from impudence, basically it is a matter of educating ourselves to true love, to love that respects others too. Sexuality is a powerful source of energy, if it is lived intelligently and in accordance with Christian principles, only in this way can it become an anticipation of that Love which we will find perfectly fulfilled in the eternal Light of God.

The total physical donation would be a lie if it were not a sign and fruit of the total personal donation, in which the whole person, even in his temporal dimension, is present: if the person reserves something or the possibility of deciding otherwise for the future, That is why it would not give itself totally. And again, the person can never be considered a means to achieve a purpose; never, above all, a means of enjoyment.
(Saint John Paul)
