THE CONVENTION

Signed between Amedeo VII, the nobles of  the Canavese and the representants of the "Tuchini". In it we find the following clauses:

·        each feudatory must swear to be faithful to the  Savoy as for lands and castles in possession

·        lands and castles must come back to propriety and possession to their lawful owners in the years before the war

·        counts mustn’t declare war to their subjects anymore

·        fighting among the counts must be presented to the law courts or to the count of Savoy

·        if the ruling of the local court doesn’t satisfy the subject, the suit can be brought to the count of Savoy

·        old privileges and allowances are reintroduced, but they had to be in use for at least 40 years

·        amnesty is allowed to individuals and to the communities for offences except for people already on trial

·        nobles must be kind to the repentant Tuchini

·        the bells ring the tocsin only in case of fire

·        smuggling must be paid according to the old rules

·        problems concerning the Lord’s succession must be examined by two experts

·        the local Lord can’t levy new taxes except in these cases: serious fire with a damage over 200 florins, the Lord’s daughters’ marriage, ransom payment to set the Lord, prisoner of war, free wars with the Lord’s bond to arm himself as knight and form armies

·        the roide of corvées are regulated as follows: guard to the castle, defensive works, excavation of the canals for the mill

·        the following fines are fixed for the crimes:

- 14000 florins to the vassals of the counts of San Martino

- 15000 florins to the vassals of the counts of Valperga

- 5000 florins to the vassals of the counts of San Martino

·        as for crimes, the juridical competence is reserved to the count of Savoy

·        As for the damages suffered from the revolt, the counts of San Martino and of Castellamonte, loyal to the Savoy, receive 1200 gold florins
