After being fired by Deep Purple after an U.S. tour in the June of 1969, Evans remained overseas and joined a hippie-rock outfit called CAPTAIN BEYOND. They signed with Capricorn label and released three albums, the first two of which with Evans (the first, the better):

In 1972 Evans left the music business and resumed his medicine studies. But in 1980 he formed an own group and named it... DEEP PURPLE. With this name, this group made a couple of gigs in California before the real group members took legal steps against him and forced him to abandon this insane idea. Since then, he hasn't been in the music biz anymore - at least, as far as I know.
I haven't found anything at the time. If you know any record on which Rod Evans was involved, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
NOTE - Due to the incredible amount of recorded work by the group's members, this page may not be complete. For each addition, correction, suggestion... please send me an e-mail. Thanks in advance.
