E' stato accertato che dopo la morte di Gesu, San Giovanni aveva accompagnato la Vergine Maria ad Efeso, in una modesta casetta (Meryemana Evi = Casa di Madre Maria) presso Bulbul Dagi (Koressos, Monte Usignolo) ove Lei rimase fino ai suoi ultimi giomi. Luogo di pellegrinaggio per cristiani e musulmani, questa casa venne santificata ufficialmente dal Vaticano, ed ogni anno, il 15 Agosto, i cristiani celebrano una cerimonia di commemorazione.

Ephesus

It is recorded that St. John brought the Virgin Mary to Ephesus after the death of Christ and that she spent her last days in a small house (Meryemana Evi) built for her on Bulbuldagi (Mt. Koressos). Now a popular place of pilgrimage for Christians and Muslims the house has received the official sanction of the Vatican,and Christians observe a commemoration ceremony every year on August 15th.
