Israeli F-4E Phantom II - Kurnass 2000 - 201 Sqn

This skin is for the F-4E Phantom (Kurnass 2000) belonging to 201 squadron based at Tel-Nof AB, Israel.
Some details are missing due to the strange behaviour of the skin ( for example the red edge of the jet intakes).
Please also note that this skin overwrites the Turkish skin, and if you added the F-4E to the US side, it will overwrite the US skin too (it's the same).
There are two versions, one high-resolution (1024x1024) that doesn't fit into the CDDS files and one with a lower resolution (512x512) that can be merged in the CDDS file.

You can download it here!

A skin for the F-4E aircraft that turns it into an F-4G Wild Weasel of the 37th TFW based at George AFB, in the mid eighties.
There are two versions, one high-resolution (1024x1024) that doesn't fit into the CDDS files and one with a lower resolution (512x512) that can be merged in the CDDS file.

F-4G Wild Weasel skin

A skin for the F-4E aircraft that turns it into the F-4G Wild Weasel SEAD platform. The file includes istructions on how to add the F-4E to the US planes and how to add new payloads (those used by F-4G). The skin represents the camo of 81st TFS, 52nd TFW based at Spangdahlem AB, Germany in the mid-late eighties.
There are two versions, one high-resolution (1024x1024) that doesn't fit into the CDDS files and one with a lower resolution (512x512) that can be merged in the CDDS file.

T-80 Desert camo

A fictional skin for a desert-type scenario. There are Iraqi-like markings on the turret side, but it's quite a fictional scheme because the old Iraqi army didn't have T-80 and because even their T-72 had different features and markings.

T-80 Soviet Guards skin and T-80 template

A fictional skin for a Central Front scenario. This does not want to represent any actual unit that served in Central Europe, it was made to try my new T-80 skin template. However as far as I know the Guards badge on the tank sight cover was actually carried by some Guards tanks. Enjoy!

PS: I updated the skin and the template to version 1.2, with some added markings and weathering.

You can download both here!

F-15 Eagle Cold War Skin Pack

This skin pack includes new tails for the F-15 Eagle. The tails belong to '80s US squadrons. Also squadron markings on the jet intakes have been painted like real ones.
The brand new tails are for:
  • 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, formerly based at Keflavik, Iceland (tailcode IS)
  • 8th Tactical Fighter Squadron "Black Sheep", based at Holloman, New Mexico, (tailcode HO)
  • 18th Tactical Fighter Wing, based at Kadena, Okinawa (Japan), (tailcode ZZ)
  • 36th Tactical Fighter Wing, formerly based at Bitburg, Germany (tailcode BT)

    A few notes:
  • The 57th FIS "Black Knights" was the USAF unit which protected Iceland, and in an hypothetical WW3 scenario against Warsaw Pact / Soviet forces it would have played a major role, defending the GIUK gap (Greenland - Iceland - UK) from Soviet air-naval forces. It is mentioned also in Tom Clancy's fictional WW3 book "Red Storm Rising"
  • The 8th TFS "Black Sheep", 49th TFW based at Holloman was one of the main F-15 units. After the USAF restructuring in the early nineties the 49th TFW became the 49th FW and all its three squadrons (included the 8th FS) had the F-117 Stealth Fighter.
  • The 18th TFW was one of the main USAF units in the Pacific (PACAF). This tail represents some seen on Kadena jets in the mid-late eighties.
  • The 36th TFW was one of the mainstays of USAFE (USAF Europe). Belonging to the 4th ATAF (Allied Tactical Air Force) the 36th TFW based at Bitburg was one of the main fighter units of the Central European scenario in the eighties, before the end of the Cold War. The 36th TFW operated three squadrons of F-15s with always one flight on Zulu Alert.
In 1990 the 36th TFW deployed to Saudi Arabia for operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm against Iraq, where it claimed 14 kills against the Iraqi Air Force, same record as Eglin's 33rd TFW.

Please note that this skin pack was not a planned release, because some things still must be fixed:
  • The eagle head below the Holloman cockpit doesn't show up, don't know why since Alpha Channel seems ok.
  • Some units (57th FIS and 36th TFW) would probably need squadron badges on the intakes (at present I haven't been able to collect any material about them).

    F-14 Tomcat 1989 VF-32 Swordsmen

January, 14th, 1989. Following another escalation in the US-Lybia relations, the US 6th fleet is conducting exercises off the Lybian coast, in the Gulf of Sirte. In the middle of the morning a pair of Lybian MiG-23 Floggers try to intercept some US aircraft; two fleet Tomcats belonging to VF-32 Swordsmen are routed to intercept the incoming bogeys. After some failed disengagement maneuvers the Floggers are declared hostile and are shot down in a short fight, where 2 Sparrows and one Sidewinder are fired.
This skin represents the camouflage and the tail art of the VF-32 Tomcats that took part to that shotdown, AC-204 and AC-207, callsign GYPSY.
The camouflage is quite typical for that timeframe, when most of US Navy aircraft adopted a low-viz scheme.

    F-16 USAF Desert Camo (experimental)

A USAF two-tones test camo for F-16 desert ops, very cool, with some weathering too ;)

Here's the description from "Viper - Modern Military Aircraft - Squadron/Signal publications":
F-16C (84-1212) of the 33rd TFS, 363rd TFW, based at Al-Dhafra (UAE) during Desert Storm (1991) was given an experimental desert camouflage. It was so effective that on its first flight his wingman lost sight of him during the initial join-up! It was repainted in standard F-16 colors after a week of testing.

This skin has been painted according to the official camo scheme and using computer-simulated FS-military tones

    Cuban MiG-29 Fulcrum

This is a standard-res Cuban Mig-29 camo. This skin overwrites the default Soviet camo, but if you want you can change this.
You don't need a tweaked nomera.tga file to avoid the soviet red stars painted over the Cuban camo.

    Tornado Template

This one has been released just to fulfill some requests. It's a PSD template for the Tornado IDS, including a "Desert-Pink" tone camo, employed by RAF Tornados during the 1991 Gulf War (Operation Desert Storm). The template is quite rough, since it was my first try to build one, so don't expect a professional template! Please also note that this template does not remove the British or German markings from the aircraft. To do this you must edit the nomera-black.tga file.
