Tim Murphy (UBC, Psychiatry) and I have been working together closely for several years through a combined interest in synaptic physiology and functional imaging using 2-photon microscopy

We have a particular strength in the use of two photon microscopy for Ca2+ imaging and dynamical GFP/YFP-based structural studies

Members of the group have a six 2-photon microscopes set up for electrophysiology and imaging (2 commercial, 4 home-made) making this a major centre for the application of this technology to nervous system study in Canada
