Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley may be about to team up to play lovers in a new film. They could get together on-screen in a remake of the 1980s film 'The Cannonball Run', originally featuring Burt Reynolds and Dom Deluise as bogus medics trying to outsmart police as they raced across America. The new £60 million film will tell the story of a private jet ‘rally’. A senior source told Ananova:"It may just seem like a gimmick but anyone who has met them will bear witness to how funny they are together. They are just so British and stiff-upper lipped when the mood takes them. They're just ideal as lovers fighting like cat and dog."
Burt Reynolds will make a cameo appearance in the re-make alongside Pamela Anderson and comedy star Tim Allen.John McTiernan has been pencilled in to direct the film next year.
Hugh will act in Jonathan Demme's romantic comedy "Intolerable Cruelty" together with Téa Leoni . She'll play a bitter divorcée who sets out to destroy her husband's lawyer (Grant) but falls in love with him in the process. So,'Intolerable Cruelty' should be really the next Hugh movie as some sources reported some months ago .
The musical director Paul Englishby has taught Hugh Grant to play guitar for his latest role in the film version of the Nick Hornby novel About A Boy. Now instead according to a gossip he'll play a rock-star in a remake of the Mexican comedy classic El Bulto. The movie should be about a musician who has to accept and admit the fact that he's no longer a rock icon, after spending 20 years drinking booze and taking drugs. This doesn't seem a role fit for Hugh, but, who knows? He can always surprise and amaze us!
Wanted: Prince Charming!(April,25,2001,updated on the 28th of July)
Another Cinderella is a hotel maid whose life completely changes after she falls in love with a British man. This fab plot belongs to 'The Chambermaid', a romantic comedy that John Hughes will direct later this year.Cinderella will have the face of Hilary Swank, but someone is missing, the English Prince Charming and Hilary would like him to be 'a master of that department',as a friend of hers has said, Mr. Grant. That source declares she's a fan of Hugh since 'Four Weddings'and after his brilliant performance as the villain of the piece in 'BJ'sD', she'd want him to be again the good nice guy of that fable-film. So,after Julia Roberts ,the Cinderella of 'Pretty Woman', has been his princess in Notting Hill, might he be the Saving Prince of that fairy-movie?Let's wait and see.
That was all on the 25th of April.Just on the 28th of July,Daily Record has reported instead that Hugh will play the Prince of England, who falls in love with Jennifer Lopez,an immigrant maid,in the Hughes movie.So,...desperately seeking the real Cinderella of this future film!
Will Hugh act as the British tennis player of the future Working Title 'Two Weeks in Love'??It is hoped that Cameron Diaz will star as Hugh's Anna Kournikova-style girlfriend. Screenwriter Mark Levin says that he is keen to get the film into production as soon as possible ‘while Hugh is still young enough to be comfortable with the athleticism of the part'.
Hugh is shooting 'About a Boy',playing a 36-year-old womanizing slacker whose fear of commitment leads him to seek out relationships with single mothers on the grounds that they are easier to leave. His plans go awry, however, when he becomes best friends with the 12-year-old son of a would-be target (Toni Collette) and falls in love with another (Rachel Weisz). The film is being produced by Working Title Films and Robert De Niro and...here you find the funny comments Hugh has made on that so famous actor and producer.Read and enjoy yourself.
"Robert De Niro is one of the producers of my new film and he came over to England the other day to sort of be nice to us all. That was terrifying going to meet him. I mean, terrifying becuase he's a big star and terrifying because he's a frightening guy I think. And the two guys who are directing the film, the Weitz brothers, they were scared too. So we had to meet up for a big drink beforehand. And sort of hold each other's hands. But he was lovely and very like Robert De Niro. Did I tell you this story already? You know he's sort of famous for repeating everything a hundred times. I remember at one point at dinner we were at Nobu and I said, 'You own this restaurant, what's that like? Having so many business interests outside acting?' And he said [perfect De Niro impersonation] 'Hugh, it's not easy, Hugh, it's not easy, Hugh, it's not easy.' I was quite drunk and this went on for about half an hour but I could see the table was enjoying it. When he got to about the four-hundredth, 'it's not easy' I said, 'So is it hard?' And he was like, 'It's really hard. It's really hard. It's really hard.' "

Digital Dish Diva says: Tell us about the film you are shooting right now.
Hugh Grant says: The one I'm about to shoot is called "About a Boy"
about a single guy that is very trendy and selfish
and develops a crush on single mums because they
are so adoring. He joins a single parent support
group pretending he has a son.
And it's about how this boy changes his life. Not
a pithy resume, but a good one.
Digital Dish Diva says: What did you think of Renee's British accent?
Hugh Grant says: I only think of her as English Renee, and now I find
her Texan accent slightly unconvincing.
Digital Dish Diva says: Peperamiaitch Asks: Daniel Cleaver is a bit of a rogue,
and a change from your normal character.
Which character is most like you in real life,
and which one did you most enjoy playing?
Hugh Grant says: I always assume that I'm lovable, pleasant, charming,
and an affable character like "Four Weddings and a
Funeral" and "Notting Hill." Unfortunately that is
not the opinion of producers of those films, they
say this brings out the real me as they say.
Digital Dish Diva says: Lasairiona Asks: I wanted to know what it was like
filming the fight scene in BJD with Colin Firth. Is it true that "Colin fights like a girl"?
Hugh Grant says: I don't want to be unkind to Colin because he did splendidly, but I spent several years in the SAS, the British Special Services, and I'm trained to kill. So, it was never a very even contest.
Digital Dish Diva says: You hide that skill so well.
Hugh Grant says: Well thank you, most people don't know about that part of my life.
Digital Dish Diva says: dot360 Asks: Daniel Cleaver starts his relationship with Bridget over the pc. Have you ever chatted over the computer before?
Hugh Grant says: I did once visit a chat room but it was in the early days of me understanding about the web. I thought we were going to talk about Manchester United Football Team, but he wanted to know what kind of underwear I was wearing.
Digital Dish Diva says: kitkat says: How is your screenplay about the time when people in England had to ration water & share baths coming along?
Hugh Grant says: That's an incredible piece of inside knowledge that I can't believe you know. Are you Elizabeth Hurley? "
