ONLINE SID MUSIC COMPETITION RULES
To participate to this competition you must provide a sid C64 music tune, following the below rules:
- The entry must be sent as email in a zip (the zip will be putted in the
site as is, only after the end of the vote) and it must contains the tune in
PSID format.
I will take the PSID file and changes the credits like this:
- Name: I left only the first 3 caracters of the tune name and add this
test: '...SidWine2'. This is a way to satisfy the second survey question result :)
- Author: I will put this name: 'Hidden :)'
- Copyright: I will put '2003 Hidden for SidWine 2'
True credits will be repristinate only after the end of the voting.
As this kind of system that hidden the composer name is quite innovative,
it's obbligatory during the competition to not reveal the true credits
of a tune in any form (like for examples IRC, newsgroup of forum messages, ...)
Please, take the suspance that come from not knowing the composer like a
big opportuneness to be very fair.
If you are not able to have a PSID file from your C64 prg than ask me to help
you ripping the tune before renounce to partecipate to the compo.
Please, specify the chip SID model you compose the tune and/or if it is PAL or
NTSC based (this is just for better listening to it).
- An author can send as many sids he wants and can take place to the voting too.
- A tune for being valid must be an original composition.
However, for satisfy the first survey question, even loosely based or
inspired-by tunes of existing music will be accepted (in this case provide
the author/title of the music)
As it can be very soggettive to establish
how much based a tune is respect another, my judgement after a submission will be
the choice :) (howerver I will use the paramether that only max 33% of likeness
will be accepted, if this can help you in composing the tune).
Note that the tune must be new (or, in other terms , it must not be had released in the past)
- As soon as one entry arrive, it will be putted into the site, so people can enjoy the sid
- The first classified will receive 12 wine bottles to drink a toast to sid music (the wine is of my little personal production)
- In case more that one people win (have the same points at first position), only the people how sent the sid before the other will be awarded.
- Unfortunately I *can* sent the prize only to a legal address in EU Europe because the world is so big.
Sorry for this. If you are not an EU people, consider the idea to give the prize to an your EU parent or friend in case you win.
Otherwise you can participate for the classication but not for the prize. In that case the prize go to the next people after you if you will win the competition.
- If for some reasons your tune will arrive after the ending submission period,
you will compete only for classification but not for price.
- Due to the privacy Italian law you are not obligate to give me the EU address when you summit the tune. Provide me only a valid replay email address. I will ask you the address only if you win.
- I reserve a my participation to the competition but only for the classification
- Tune must be sent from 21 February 2003 to 5 April 2003 11:59 AM GTM
- Voting will start near 8 April 2003 and are open to everyone (only one voting email for people)
- Voting will end on 19 April 2003 (11:59 PM GTM) and result will be available on 21 April 2003.
- The voting received will be available to the people that require for a verification (in that case I will remove people name and some part of the email-address) for privacy reasons
- My vote will be counted too, but I will vote *before* the open vote time
- As soon as the votes arrive, I will put these information on the site: number of vote received and vote number of the first and last classified (well, something like: people=5 max=125 min=95)
- Finally my email address is ice00 (at) libero.it. I will replay to all the tune/vote arrived withing few days. If you did not receive an answer, resent because the mail probably went lost.
As a final note: I reserve to change the rules only for bug fix them.
