Fabrizio Formenti, 4 Marzo 2004: Unico CEIAD Taxi Driver di Martin Scorsese Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro), ex veterano della guerra del Vietnam, prova a scacciare incubi e tormenti improvvisandosi conducente di taxi
E' forse anche per questo motivo che "Taxi Driver" riesce a raccontarsi oggi con la stessa eloquenza di allora, conservando inalterata quella capacità di scuotere la persona dal suo torpore, così come il regista Martin Scorsese e il fido sceneggiatore Paul Schrader desideravano potesse accadere (ed è accaduto) già nel 1976
Una regia lucida, pulita, quella di Scorsese, la cui maestria è ben visibile nel finale di pellicola (ma sono molte le finezze rintracciabili lungo tutta la sua durata), un finale in cui si denotano gli elementi tecnico-registici che andranno fortificandosi nei futuri lavori del cineasta newyorchese

Alberto Cassani, 4 Ottobre 2003: Straordinario Warner, 20 Settembre 1990 Quei bravi ragazzi di Martin Scorsese Henry Hill è cresciuto nel quartiere italo-americano di Brooklin, ed è cresciuto nel mito dei mafiosi che regnavano su quelle strade
Questo è ciò che dice il vero Henry Hill al giornalista Nicholas Pileggi, che l'ha riportato nel libro da cui Scorsese ha tratto questa pellicola
Sorretto da un cast già di per se ottimo qui in serata di grazia (De Niro, Liotta, Paul Sorvino, Joe Pesci…), il film è una dimostrazione di maestria da parte di Martin Scorsese, che sa dosare gli elementi della sceneggiatura in modo da raccontare la storia con stile epico ma senza mai stancare, nonostante le quasi due ore e mezza di proiezione
Essendo un film di mafia, peraltro uno dei migliori (e il miglior Scorsese in assoluto), non è scevro da scene di violenza, fin dall'inizio
E se il modo in cui Scorsese narra il finale può far storcere qualche naso, è indubbio che le parole di Ray Liotta con cui il film si chiude rappresentino tutto fuorché un happy ending

SHARK TALE Il mondo marino rivisitato in chiave cool Shark Tale è uno di quei film danimazione che non si dovrebbero doppiare in altre lingue, infatti nel doppiaggio americano originale figurano nomi del calibro di Robert DeNiro, Martin Scorsese (si, proprio lui), Jack Black, Renee Zellweger, Will Smith e Angelina Jolie
Ma probabilmente questa non è la giusta sede per contestare le leggi di mercato riguardo il doppiaggio (ma allora qual è?), consigliamo solo ai lettori, se ne hanno la possibilità, di guardarsi Shark Tale nel doppiaggio originale per godersi appieno le rappate di Will Smith, la vocina effeminata di Jack Black, Robert DeNiro in veste mafioso (si, anche nei cartoni animati è il boss della mafia) che fa capish!, e soprattutto la vera novità: Martin Scorsese che canta In the club di 50 cent , incredibile ma vero
Il protagonista è Will Smith (fin troppo rappeggiante e rumoroso, ma pare piaccia così); Renee Zellweger è la dolce Angie (meglio il pesce delle moine dell'attrice); la languida Lola ha le sembianze, e soprattutto la bocca, di Angelina Jolie; Martin Scorsese è il panciuto Sykes e Robert De Niro è il potente Don Lino (deludente, comunque, la voce originale dai bassi contenuti)

Recensioni Cristo è tornato: a New York Attraverso gli occhi del paramedico Frank Pierce, Scorsese ci mostra la New York nera, sporca, torbida della periferia, una Grande Mela bacata, popolata di morti viventi, come la mente di Frank è abitata dai fantasmi delle persone che non è riuscito a salvare, tutti "incarnati" dal volto di Rose, una ragazza morta per un suo errore, che come una visione gli appare periodicamente lungo i marciapiedi sudici di Hell's Kitchen confusa tra le prostitute
Insomma ancora una volta sono il "senso di colpa" e la "ricerca della salvezza" i temi cardine dell'autore Scorsese, con la differenza che stavolta toccano vertici di parossismo mai visti prima nel regista italo-americano
E come nell'"Ultima Tentazione" sarà una "morte" (anche qui c'è la stessa lacerante incertezza tra la scelta della vita e quella della morte) e non il salvataggio, come il protagonista credeva inizialmente, a liberare catarticamente dall'angoscia il protagonista (e, ci vogliamo scommettere, Scorsese si attirerà nuovamente le ire del Cattolicesimo ortodosso...)
