JOB EXPERIENCE

·         Since 03/2017: VIRTUAL VALIDATION AND APPLICATIONS ENGINEER in "Drivetrain" Research and Product Development Department of COMER INDUSTRIES S.p.A. at Reggiolo (RE). My duties and responsibilities are:

·         Provide system integration of hydraulic and mechatronic components of axles and gearboxes to fulfill customers specifications and suitability to applications.

·         Engineering support to Sales, Quality, Manufacturing and Assembling, Supply Chain departments; final technical approval of commercial offers before creating and releasing bill of materials and product documentation.

·         Implementation and update of calculation and verification tools of Comer Drivetrain range of products for R&D and Sales Support engineers.

·         Redaction of Design Validation Plans (DVP) for calculations, internal bench tests and field tests, discussion and approval of Design Validation Reports (DVR), Feasibility Analysis and Interim Requests by suppliers, in order to provide technical release of prototypes and series production.

·         Virtual Validation of components and assemblies of new products according to defined mission before prototypes launching.

·         From 06/2014 to 02/2017: DESIGN ENGINEER COORDINATOR (6 designers + outsourcing on demand) of Research and Product Development Department "Powertrain" in COMER INDUSTRIES S.p.A. at Reggiolo (RE).

·         From 12/03/2007 to 02/11/2008 I was assigned to R&D DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (Planetary Drives Technical Division) as DESIGNER/RESEARCHER in DINAMIC OIL S.p.A. in the new plant of Bomporto (Modena).

Main tasks performed are:

  • TEAM LEADER of a variable number of designers depending on the project assigned to develop;
  • Commercial support concerning draft projects;
  • Implementation of a configurator + selection and calculation program for internal use of Technical, Commercial Department and sellers representatives;
  • Design and re-design of gearbox and components for optimization goals according to UNI/ISO/AGMA rules;
  • Calculations using latest instruments available on market, comparing results with analytical solutions, also by means of Finite Elements Analysis, Algebraic Manipulators and hand-made calculus;
  • Search on market of accessories and solutions for specific customer requests.
  • Product and type certifications, for instance according to DNV, ABS rules and ATEX.
  • Setting and assessment of endurance, fatigue, thermal tests on gearboxes and components.

·         From 01/04/2004 to 11/03/2007: DESIGNER (CALCULATIONS, DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT) in Gearbox Technical Division of DINAMIC OIL S.P.A. in Modena.

·         From 01/06/2001 to 31/03/2004: ELECTRO-MECHANICAL DESIGNER by “Zenit S.p.A.”, a Modena firm producing Centrifugal Motor Pumps and ISO 9001:2000 certified (80 employees).
•) Design of asynchronous electric mono-phase and tri-phase motors and drive shafts;
•) Calculation and the selection of bearings, structural calculations and simulations FEA to support other designers;
•) Design of assemblies and components with Mechanical Desktop;
•) Redaction of guide lines and technical data sheets, coordination and conduction of thermo-electrical-hydraulic tests and other activities of the R&D department finalized to the verification of the suitability of technical solutions adopted.
I was involved in two important plans of Research and Development, carried out in collaboration with the University of Bologna, one finalized to the completion of the range of electrical motor offered to market inside the centrifugal pump, the other to the determination of hydraulic loads on impellers flanks.

·         From 01/09/1999 to 30/05/2001: TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT COORDINATOR depending directly from TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT HEAD MANAGER, in the first factory of ”OIL CONTROL S.p.A” (ISO 9001 certified, 300 employees), an important industrial group based in Modena that produces oleo-dynamic machinery safety-and-control hydraulic valves. My job was the technical department leading (12 designers totally). Now the company is part of Rexroth Bosch Group as excellence point of reference for quality into research, development and design of the hydraulic valves.
