Band formatasi a Oakland (USA) nel 1985. Il sound dei Neurosis è una miscela di hardcore, metal e industrial con liriche molto personali. I membri della band sono Steve Von Till (chitarra, voce, percussioni), Dave Edwardson (basso, voce),Scott Kelly (basso, voce), Jason Roeder (batteria), Noah Landis (tastiere, samples,
campionatore), and Pete Inc. (visuals). Hanno registrato il primo album "Pain of Mind" nel 1987 mentre "A Sun That Never Sets" è il titolo dell'ultima fatica uscita nel 2001.
