I’m a 36-year-old mineral collector living in Reggio Emilia, a town located in the North of Italy, my favorite hobby is to collect minerals, I have a collection that I try to increase day by day.

I collect Italian minerals but I’d like to insert into my collection good specimens of all around the world, especially from Scandinavia and European zeolites.

Since 1999 I’ve been a member of Società Reggiana di Scienze Naturali (Natural Sciences Society of Reggio Emilia) a group of people keen on natural sciences: mineralogy, geology, paleontology, malacology and entomology above all.

I like to exchange minerals by mail on a non commercial basis. Therefore, exchange material should be identified carefully, and the exact locality has to be known. I try to get specimens of minimum 3X3 cm, preferably 5X5 or 6X6 cm. I try to avoid micromounts, but for very rare species a micromount or a thumbnail is welcome.

I don’t have many specimens to exchange, ‘cause I begun to exchange only a few years ago; I didn’t know any collector before but just a friend who is always with me during all the mineral excursions.

I think that exchanging mineral samples is a very good way to increase a collection, particularly if the specimens have been self-collected.

I prefer that one of the parties sends first so that the other party sends their exchange material after having evaluated what they have received. Each party pays for their own mailing costs, unless agreed otherwise. Collectors who don't have exchange material available can buy specimens upon request (at very low prices).

Need more information ? Comments ? You want to exchange ? You want receive my list of specimens to trade ?  E-mail me !
