FINE TO A LIGHT MOTORCYCLE

Dear editor,
I am writing to you to point out an absurdity created by our local authorities. I discovered it after parking my faithful light motorcycle into the provided area. The day after I came back and took it but I found out it had been moved outside the provided area, with some spokes broken and with a pleasant fine of 60.600 liras on it. I was guilty for having parked my motorcycle on the pavement outside the provided area. I asked myself whether the people who planned motorcycles parking lots have been realizing that they are objects which can be easily removable, contrary to cars. Whether they have been considering that whoever is able to move a light motorcycle of those ten centimeters which are enough to make the cycle cross the white line which marks parking lots. If, in name of goliardery, some guys went around to move light motorcycles, local authorities could make a really big businesses of it. It could be enough to move everyday some motor scooters of a hand's span to make up budget deficit. The wind too could help in increasing municipality's incomes: a gust of wind on the windscreen, the motorcycle falls down, a passer-by who rights the motorcycle up but who puts it outside the parking lot: 60.000 liras fine. Maybe a bad guy can move another motorcycle outside the parking lot, just to make room for his own motorcycle. Is moving other's motorcycles to be considered a legal offence? If there is no damage to the removed motorcycle, I think not. On the contrary it could be to community's advantage. Local policemen answered me that the motorcycle was outside the provided area, that I could lodge a petition with lower court judge and that, anyway, they are on Gazzetta's news everyday. Who knows why?
