review: Women and men has a twin painting (Men and women). Therefore the opera as a whole is constituted by two paintings. The two ones are specular, in other words, like to be seen in a mirror. This refers to the difference, and to the complementarity, between man and woman, from which the title. According to the author view are represented, observed from above, men and women dancing in a ballroom. The way by which the color is daubed on the wood remembers, as visual effect, the impressionism. ENRICO pays homage to the impressionism by painting this opera, and invents a way of painting that could be defined: "abstract impressionism".
