Description

  This aircraft was one of two belonged by Oblt. Hans “Assi” Hahn, leader of  III./JG 2 Richthofen, end of 1941-beginning of 1942. The airbase was near Caen.  

This is an Hasegawa kit 1/48.

  I’ve opened the engine space to show the DB 601N released by australian Cavalier.

  The cockpit has been entirely modified; many other parts are scratchbuilt. Wheels wells modified.

  The four fuselage reinforcements are done by brass, glued with cyanoacrilic and sanded to reach the right thickness. Kit’s dimension are exact excepted the front fuselage part: a ring done with plasticard of 1 mm. thick, placed behind the spinner, will work out this little problem. 

  This aircraft is not dirty because in this war period there was time for washing it and “Assi” flew with two different 109: one without yellow nose and black wings root; the other is this object I suggest you.   

  About the colours 74/75/76 I referred to the Official Monogram Luftwaffe volume.
