Trimming HC
Has anyone ever trimmed HC down like Glosso? Is it possible and will it come back? Any thoughts before I whip my scissors out and try alittle patch out

I recently bought some plants for my 29g new aquarium and i noticed when i came home tonight from work there were some dark specs on the front side of my glass on my tank. After a closer look i noticed they're baby snails!
Best canister filter
Which ones are the best and most reliable and don't suck when trying to clean. Trying to do some research on a canister filter for my 55 gallon planted tank. Any suggestions/reviews would help
Aquascaping question: tall plants or terraces?
I'd like to try layering stem plants like that, but it seems that the bottom part of the back plant would not get enough light. Any suggestions on how this layered look is achieved
Choice of tanks

Plants I have are : Ammania Gracillis, Lemnophila Sess. , Rotala Rot. , Pearl Grass. I have 50 watts for lighting. Will this be enough? What would be a good layout for the tank? Any other suggestions? Carl Archie

does anyone know what the name of the plant that grows above the water surface in Amano's giant tank is? i am trying to find a plant that has nice leaves (sort of anubia shape) that will grow out of the water surface in my ADA style
Worms, daphnia, and other creepy crawlies
I have three fairly new 2.5 gallon planted set ups, all with one betta each. I know that planaria, daphnia, and other creatures occur naturally in every tank and usually only get out of control when the water is dirty or fish overfed.
