"brutale". |

Feud between exes Alec Baldwin and
Kim Basinger flares up with release of angry voicemail
LOS ANGELES – The festering bad blood between movie-star exes Alec
Baldwin and Kim Basinger erupted Thursday when an angry phone message from
Baldwin to his daughter was made public.
On the recording, Baldwin can be heard berating his 11-year-old, Ireland,
“You are a rude, thoughtless little pig.”
“You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being,” he says,
apparently upset that she did not answer her phone for a planned call.
“I don't give a damn that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that
you're a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who
doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have
humiliated me for the last time with this phone.”
He goes on to say that he plans to fly from New York to Los Angeles “for
the day just to straighten you out on this issue.”
The recording was published by celebrity news site TMZ.com, which said
that the call was placed on April 11.
Baldwin's spokesman said in a statement Thursday that, “in the best
interest of the child,” the 49-year-old actor “will do what the mother is
pathologically incapable of doing ... keeping his mouth shut and obeying
the court order.
“The mother and her lawyer leaked this sealed material in violation of a
court order,” the statement continued. “Although Alec acknowledges that he
should have used different language in parenting his child, everyone who
knows him privately knows what he has been put through for the past six
years.”
“The voice mail speaks for itself,” Basinger's spokeswoman said.
Calls to Basinger's and Baldwin's attorneys were not returned.
Baldwin and Basinger, 53, were married in 1993. They have been involved in
prolonged legal disputes over custody and other issues since she filed for
divorce in 2001, which was granted in 2002. The couple's differences have
been aired several times in public.
Basinger was charged with contempt of court in October for violating terms
of a 2004 custody agreement. A motion by her lawyers to dismiss the
charges was denied Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The next
hearing on visitation issues is scheduled for May 4. |

Alec Baldwin Calls His Kid A 'Rude
Little Pig,' Describes Her Messy Room, Unmade Bed As A 'Total Sty'
If you haven't heard this, stop what you're doing and have a listen.
Yep, that's Alec Baldwin, evidently angry because his "rude little pig" of
a daughter had the audacity to have her phone turned off when he attempted
to call and check in.
Now, purportedly, the voicemail was leaked to TMZ by Kim Basinger, mother
of said twelve year old pig and Alec's soon-to-be ex-wife.
But, we actually think the message is rather refreshing! After all, it's
so much nicer when people say what they really mean instead of
whitewashing it with bullshit like "Oh, I guess you're not in. Rats. I'll
just try you again later." normal.
Next up: A second leaked voicemail in which "The Pig" really pushes Alec's
buttons by choosing her "BFF Julie" over Dad in a call-waiting war. |

Alec Baldwin In Scalding Hot Water
After Angry Tirade On Daughter’s Voicemail
Actor Alec Baldwin is in some big trouble this morning after the leak
of an angry voice mail he left for his 12-year-old daughter, Ireland. In
the verbal tirade, Baldwin lashes out at his daughter for having her phone
turned off for a scheduled call from good old dad:
You are a rude, thoughtless little pig.
The usually silver-tongued 30 Rock star was been locked in a bitter
custody battle with ex-wife Kim Basinger for years. He’s accused her of
constant scheduling shifting so Alec doesn’t have a chance so talk to or
see his daughter often. Clearly Baldwin reached a boiling point and took
out some of his frustration at Basinger on their offspring. Baldwin lives
in New York, while Basinger and Ireland live in California.
A Los Angeles family court has already temporarily suspended visitation
rights for Baldwin, and he may have lost his chance for custody
completely. Although the voicemail was leaked anonymously to the press,
all signs point to Basinger.
Baldwin’s camp is already doing damage control, admitting that the
language Alec used was out of line, but pointing the finger at Basinger
for driving him to the edge. While every parent knows that kids sometimes
need a good tongue lashing, it’s hard to justify screaming that you’re
going to fly out the California to “straighten [their] ass out.”
How this will affect Baldwin’s relationship with NBC is yet to be seen,
but advertisers must be getting a little nervous about the next episode of
30 Rock. Stay tuned. |

Alec Baldwin's Threatening Message to Daughter
An enraged Alec Baldwin unleashed a volcanic tirade of threats and insults
on his 11-year-old daughter, Ireland, calling her a "thoughtless little
pig," and bashing her mother Kim Basinger -- and TMZ has obtained the
whole thing unfiltered and raw. And we've learned, a family law judge was
so alarmed after hearing the tape, she has temporarily barred Baldwin from
having any contact with his child.
After Ireland failed to answer her father's scheduled phone call from New
York on April 11, Alec went berserk on her voice mail, saying "Once again,
I have made an ass of myself trying to get to a phone," adding, "you have
insulted me for the last time."
Switching his train of thought, Baldwin then exercised his incredible
parenting skills and took a shot at his ex-wife, declaring, "I don't give
a damn that you're 12-years-old or 11-years-old, or a child, or that your
mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care about what you
do." The irate Baldwin went on to say, "You've made me feel like s**t" and
threatened to "straighten your ass out."
"This crap you pull on me with this goddamn phone situation that you would
never dream of doing to your mother," screamed Baldwin, "and you do it to
me constantly over and over again."
Before hanging up, Baldwin warned the child, "You better be ready Friday
the 20th to meet with me." That's tomorrow.
We've learned that on Wednesday, Los Angeles County Superior Court
commissioner Maren Nelson heard the tape and temporarily suspended
Baldwin's visitation rights. A hearing is set for May 4, where the judge
could permanently deny Baldwin visitation or contact with Ireland.
Calls to Basinger's attorneys, celebrity lawyers Neal Hersh and Judy
Bogen, were not returned.
Baldwin's lawyer, Vicki Greene, told TMZ, "Whatever happened yesterday was
sealed and confidential. What you're telling me you've got you shouldn't
have."
UPDATE: Basinger's publicist, Annette Wolfe, told TMZ: "The voicemail
speaks for itself."
UPDATE: A friend of Alec Baldwin's just contacted TMZ to say that the
actor called Ireland last week and apologized for his outburst. The friend
added that Ireland is the most important thing in the world to Alec and
that he is frustrated because over the last six years, Kim has "tried
everything" to alienate Ireland from him.
UPDATE: Alec Baldwin's spokesperson released the following statement to
the TV show "EXTRA": "In the best interest of the child, Alec will do what
the mother is pathologically incapable of doing ... keeping his mouth shut
and obeying the court order. The mother and her lawyer leaked this sealed
material in violation of a court order. Although Alec acknowledges that he
should have used different language in parenting his child, everyone who
knows him privately knows what he has been put through for the past six

ALEC BALDWIN NEI GUAI PER PAROLACCE A
FIGLIA
WASHINGTON - Potrebbe costare molto cara all'attore Alec Baldwin una

forme e nelle strutture originali.
Noto in campo internazionale, già
espositivo.

4 aprile 2007 alle 13:00 — Fonte: repubblica.it voti— 0 commenti
colpisce in continuazioné.
‘Devo ammettere che ho un debole per Kim Basinger — ha aggiunto — Ed Eva
Longoria ha un sedere fantastico’. Douglas e la Jones si sono sposati nel
2000 con una lussuosa cerimonia al Plaza Hotel di New York: le foto del
loro matrimonio furono vendute in esclusiva al magazine OK! , che le pagò
quasi un milione e mezzo di euro. La coppia ha due figli: Dylan, di sei
anni, e Carys, di tre. |

Alec Baldwin Explains Angry Tyrade on
Website
LOS ANGELES (AP) - April 21, 2007 - As Alec Baldwin's angry words to
his daughter were being broadcast around the world, the 49-year-old actor
explained himself Friday on his Web site.
"Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as
all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that
this was released to the media because of what it does to a child," he
wrote. "I'm sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper
with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for
many years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I
hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry
that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under
seal in this case."
A voicemail Baldwin left for his 11-year-old daughter, in which he can be
heard calling her "a rude, thoughtless little pig," was published Thursday
by celebrity news site TMZ.com.
Baldwin and his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, have been engaged in bitter custody
disputes over their daughter, Ireland, since the couple divorced in 2002.
"In such public cases, your opponents attempt to take a picture of you on
your worst day and insist that this is who you are as a person," Baldwin
wrote. "Outside the doors of divorce court, I have friends, I have respect
from people I work with and I have a normal relationship with my daughter.
All of that is threatened whenever one enters a court room."
Meanwhile, Baldwin's attorney, Vicki Greene, said she filed a Superior
Court order Friday "to determine how the tape got leaked and to determine
whether actions should be taken against Kim Basinger, or her attorneys, or
Harvey Levin (who runs TMZ.com) and anybody else associated with the
leaking of the tape and the violation of the court orders to keep the
proceedings closed."
In a letter Greene sent to Levin Thursday included in the court order, the
attorney said she called Levin at 12:30 p.m. that day after learning he
intended to go public with the tape.
"I cautioned you against taking any action, especially when what you
disclosed to me could only have been obtained from an improper source, was
sealed by the Court and should not be in your possession, let alone
disclosed to the public," she said in the letter.
Levin told The Associated Press on Friday that he obtained the tape
legally.
"I'm not going to talk about sources. I'm not going to say who we obtained
it from," he said. "We obtained this legally. We discussed it, and felt it
was an important story, and published it. If she disagrees, that's her
opinion."
Greene told TV's "The Insider" that "anyone involved in this case should
want to protect Ireland, so whatever happened was either intentional,
reckless or negligent."
The matter is set for a hearing June 5, Greene said. Basinger's attorney,
Neal Hersh, weighed in on the family saga Friday on TMZ.com.
"I am concerned that Mr. Baldwin's recent statement, wherein he attempts
to shift responsibility to Kim and her lawyers for his issues with
Ireland, shows just how out of touch he is with the reality and gravity of
the situation," Hersh said.
Basinger's spokeswoman had no comment Friday. |

BALDWIN APOLOGISES FOR DAUGHTER
VOICEMAIL
The Departed's Alec Baldwin has apologised for any offence he caused
by calling his daughter "a rude, thoughtless little pig" on a voicemail
message.
Writing on his official website, the 49-year-old thanked his fans for the
"messages of support and understanding" they have posted following the
incident, which was made public by entertainment website tmz.com.
Reports that Baldwin had left the angry message to his 11-year-old
daughter Ireland surfaced last week and the comments have circulated
around the globe.
Baldwin's lawyers have since launched legal action to determine how the
tape came to be in the public domain.
The Good Shepherd star is locked in an acrimonious custody battle with
former wife Kim Basinger, who he was divorced from in 2002.
Speaking on his site, Baldwin admitted that "it is not best for a parent
to lose their temper with their child" but emphasised that he had "endured
a great deal over the last several years in my custody litigation".
"Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as
all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that
this was released to the media because of what it does to a child," he
added on the post.
"I'm sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with
my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many
years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you
never do.) I am sorry for what happened."
Baldwin added that once his forthcoming book is published "I'm sure more
people will understand the incredible strains created by parental
alienation".
Basic Instinct star Basinger and Baldwin married in 1993 and split up nine
years later. |

attorney said she called Levin at 12:30 p.m. that day after learning he
intended to go public with the tape.
If she disagrees, that's her
opinion."
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Kim Basinger denies she leaked a voicemail in which her
ex-husband, Alec Baldwin, calls their 11-year-old daughter a "rude,
thoughtless little pig."
"Kim Basinger did not release the voicemail. Additionally, the voicemail
was not sealed under a court order," said a statement released by the
actress's publicist, Annett Wolf, on Monday.
Baldwin left a voicemail lambasting his daughter, Ireland, for failing to
answer the telephone for a prearranged call. The tape was aired by the
celebrity Web site TMZ.com on Thursday and quickly made headlines around
the world.
A Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner ordered Baldwin to stay away
from his daughter pending a May 4 hearing.
Baldwin, who has been locked in a custody dispute with Basinger since
their 2002 divorce, blamed her for the leak on Friday. He also apologized
on his own Web site for "losing my temper with my child."
"I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years
now," Baldwin wrote.
"Everybody is always asking why this custody battle has been going on for
so many years, and now they have the answer. The issue is not about Kim or
the alleged alienation that Alec constantly refers to; it is about his
ongoing aggressive behavior," Basinger's statement said.
"Kim's sincerest wish is for him to finally address his unstable and
irrational behavior so he, at some point, can potentially create a
relationship with his daughter," the statement said. "Until then, Kim will
continue to protect and safeguard her child's well-being as any parent
would."
Basinger is facing trial on 12 misdemeanor counts of criminal contempt for
allegedly disregarding court orders concerning Baldwin's visitation
rights. |

The Alec Baldwin, Kim Basinger
custody battle over daughter Ireland is a riot.
Not just Baldwin’s temper tirade, or possibly somebody’s slipping the
tape to the media in violation of court orders, but the claim by
television experts that the real damage is to daughter Ireland.
Networks have talking heads discussing how Ireland might not recover from
the pressures surrounding the custody battle, the temper tantrums, the
alienation allegations. Then, as certain as we’re in the month of April,
the Networks play the audio again, and again.
So much for healing Ireland.
Yes, Baldwin lost his cool. Yes, somebody leaked the tape. And absolutely,
playing the audio over and over can be hazardous to your health, and the
mental health of one Ireland, the daughter, who is not even quite a teen
but who needs the maturity to overcome having her own parents dirty
laundry replayed on the television Network near you.
So much for domestic riots at their journalistic finest. |

Baldwin responds to airing of tape
As Alec Baldwin's angry words to his daughter were being broadcast
around the world, the 49-year-old actor explained himself yesterday on his
Web site:
"Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as
all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that
this was released to the media because of what it does to a child. I'm
sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my
child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many
years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you
never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a
court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in
this case."
A voice mail Baldwin left for his 11-year-old daughter, in which he can be
heard calling her "a rude, thoughtless little pig," was published Thursday
by celebrity news site TMZ.com.
Baldwin's attorney, Vicki Greene, said she filed a court order yesterday
"to determine how the tape got leaked and to determine whether actions
should be taken again Kim Basinger, or her attorneys, or Harvey Levin [who
runs TMZ.com], and anybody else associated with the leaking of the tape
and the violation of the court orders."
Greene told TV's "The Insider" that "anyone involved in this case should
want to protect Ireland, so whatever happened was either intentional,
reckless or negligent."
The matter is set for a hearing June 5, Greene said. |

Actor Alec Baldwin and his daughter
have worked through his angry voice mail that was leaked online, the
spokesman for the New York actor said.
In addition, Baldwin asked the Los Angeles Superior Court for a
hearing on how the tape was leaked and to determine what actions should be
taken against (former wife) Kim Basinger, her attorney any other agents or
employees and anyone else the court deems appropriate to determine whether
actions should be taken against them for violating a court order, Vicki
Green, an attorney for Baldwin, told Entertainment Tonight.
The voice mail in which Baldwin swore and called his 11-year-old daughter
names was part of a sealed court proceeding. It was leaked online last
week. Baldwin and Basinger divorced in 2001 and have joint legal and
physical custody, which is subject to a dispute. Their only child,
Ireland, lives with Basinger in Los Angeles, where she attends school, and
Baldwin lives in New York.
Anyone involved in this case should want to protect Ireland, Green said,
so whatever happened was either intentional, reckless or negligent. |

Alec Baldwin Gives Explanation On
Outburst
Boston (eCanadaNow) - Alec Baldwin has released a statement explaining
his outburst towards his daughter on a voice mail which was leaked on the
web.
The 49-year-old Baldwin stated that the voicemail he left for his
11-year-old daughter, calling her a “little pig” was out of line.
Baldwin stated that he was sorry for what happened and that a court order
was violated completely. He stated that many people told him it is normal
to get angered by their child from time to time, though an outburst such
as this is unneccessary.
Baldwin is in an intense custody dispute with ex-wife Kim Basinger since
their divorce in 2002. Baldwin’s attorney Vickie Greene filed a court
order on Friday. The order is to find out exactly how the tape got leaked
and if actions should be taken towards his ex-wife Kim.
We will have to see how this turns out with the next hearing set for June
5th. |

Kim Basinger Hires Security To
Protect Daughter
Kim Basinger has reportedly hired round-the-clock protection to keep
ex-husband Alec Baldwin from their 11-year-old daughter. According to the
New York Post, the Oscar-winning actress stepped up security around her
Los Angeles home after Baldwin called daughter Ireland a "rude,
thoughtless little pig" during a recorded telephone conversation.
The actor has since apologized publicly and in private to his daughter
after the conversion was leaked on the internet. A friend of Baldwin's
tells the Post "This is a desperate plea for sympathy when the only danger
to the child is inside her own home. What kind of parent leaks a voicemail
that causes her daughter significant embarrassment and unneeded
attention?"
Baldwin has been barred from seeing his daughter until a May 4th court
date. His spokesman says, "Alec truly cares about the best interests of
his daughter." |

Actor Baldwin could lose visitation
rights
‘30 Rock’ star blames ex-wife’s side for leaking tape.
Alec Baldwin could be barred from contact with his daughter because of the
threatening tirade he left on her voice mail.
The “30 Rock” star’s tape-recorded rant was obtained by the celebrity Web
site TMZ.com after it was reviewed by the judge overseeing the
long-running custody dispute between the actor and his Oscar-winning
ex-wife, Kim Basinger. Infuriated that daughter Ireland failed to answer
his scheduled phone call on April 11, Baldwin, 49, launched into a
screaming fit. By Friday it was all over the Internet.
“I am tired of playing this game with you. ... You have insulted me for
the last time. ... You don’t have the brains or the decency as a human
being,” he fumed.
Commissioner Maren Nelson has temporarily suspended Baldwin’s visitation
rights, TMZ said. A hearing is set for May 4, according to court
officials. Custody proceedings are closed, and the filings are
confidential.
Baldwin’s lawyer, Vicki Greene, blamed Basinger’s camp for leaking the
tape and “hurting the child.”
“Alec is a great guy who loves his daughter,” Greene said.
Baldwin’s spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, defended him in a statement:
“Although Alec acknowledges that he should have used different language in
parenting his child, everyone who knows him privately knows what he has
been put through for the past six years.”
Basinger’s rep, Annett Wolf, said: “The voice mail speaks for itself.”
Celebrity divorce lawyer Lynn Soodik said Baldwin’s outburst could cost
him.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t allow him to see her, or that all
future visits would be with a professional monitor present,” Soodik said.
On Friday, TMZ.com posted another Baldwin piece about Ireland. It was a
CNN interview where he said he was a slave to his daughter. |

Kim Basinger Likely Violated Court
Order, Daughter Might Be Rude and Thoughtless
The whole Alec Baldwin voice mail nonsense is really getting old.
First off, Kim Basinger is a sanctimonious witch for pulling this stunt.
And let’s be honest here, we know she coordinated it - unless she can
prove otherwise, which is HIGHLY unlikely. Alec and his lawyers seem to
think so too. He has filed legal documents in a Los Angeles court to
determine if his ex-wife has violated court order and is in contempt of
that court order. If you want the legal mumbo-jumbo TMZ has it.
There is a bigger issue here, and it’s not just about Alec Baldwin, Kim
Basinger or their daughter. It’s about how delusional and ridiculous this
country has become. I don’t care about Alec Baldwin as a celebrity, in
fact, I think most celebrities are idiots. I do care about his role as
father being criticized by America, and the need to assail his character
because he didn’t want to accept his daughter’s continued disrespect.
And you know what, if they had a preset time to talk on the phone as part
of their custody arrangements, it is entirely unacceptable for her and her
mother to continually violate that court order without just cause or
reason.
He’s her dad. I bet he pays child support. I bet he worries about her and
cares about her and wants to maintain a relationship with her. I bet he
wants her to meet her obligation in the relationship and answer her
friggin’ phone when he calls. Cripes, is that too much to ask?
Sure he’s a hotheaded, big-mouthed, angry dope. And yes, he definitely
insulted her beyond what’s acceptable. And you know what, he apologized,
and now because his ex-wife’s a totally childish, psychotic manipulator,
he’s had to apologize to the world.
Let me ask you something. Have you ever said something you wished you
hadn’t? Have you ever done something you wish you hadn’t? Of course,
everyone has. Children, contrary to what some idiots in the world think,
sometimes behave like brats. Either they’ve had too much sugar, don’t feel
well, had a bad day, are in a mood or just plain feel like being big pains
in the asses for no damn good reason. It doesn’t matter. But that surely
doesn’t excuse them from the behavior, anymore than it does an adult. In
fact, it’s a parent’s job to point out a child’s poor behavior and help
them correct it. Far as I am concerned, if Alec’s daughter kept ignoring
her phone visitation calls with her dad, then that makes her rude and
thoughtless — and quite possibly a pig. Who knows about that last one.
I’ve heard worse, by better, more kindly, patient people. So really, let’s
get a hold of ourselves. Get off your friggin’ high horse and see this for
what it is: a publicity stunt pulled by one angry parent trying to make
the other look bad. A cheap shot across the bow. The real victim here
besides Ireland for having two knuckleheads for parents, is me. Because I
have been forced to explain the obvious to a large number of people who
are clearly full of crap.
Ok, I’m not really the victim, but neither is Ireland in this case. She’s
11, and as such she is old enough to own up to her responsibility as a kid
and realize she has both a mom and a dad. If she’s good enough to accept
his money, then she’s good enough to accept his phone call at a designated
time.
Update: Kim Basinger’s own mother has openly defended Alec in the past and
accused her daughter of intentionally alienating Alec from his daughter.
“My heart is sad for Ireland. She’s the one that’s suffering the most. All
this is killing her. I think Kim has tried to alienate Ireland from her
father. Alec loves his daughter with all his heart. He really is a family
man…I hate what [Kim] is doing.” |

Kim Basinger's ex Alec Baldwin
apologises for answer phone rant
The actor says he's sorry for calling his 11-year-old daughter a
'thoughtless little pig'
Hollywood star Alec Baldwin has apologised for ranting at his daughter
Ireland, 11, in an answer phone message – calling her a 'rude, thoughtless
little pig'.
The actor's marriage to Kim Basinger ended in 2000 and the couple's
divorce proceedings and custody battle have made headline news, with
bitter allegations on both sides.
In Alec's message, which was recorded on 11 April, he is apparently very
upset because Ireland, who lives in LA with her mum, did not answer her
phone at 7.30am for a planned call with her dad from New York.
'You have insulted me for the last time!' he says. 'You've made me feel
like a fool over and over and over again.'
After the tape became available on the internet, Alec, 49 - pictured here
with Kim when Ireland was a baby – wrote on his website: 'I'm sorry, as
everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child.'
On Wednesday, Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Maren Nelson heard
the tape and temporarily suspended Alec's visitation rights to see his
daughter. |

Kim Basinger's slap shot at her
ex-husband may end up slapping her in the face
(CHICAGO)(April 21, 2007) TMZ.com lists Alec Baldwin
as one of last week's biggest losers. His tirade left on a voice-mail for
his daughter has been broadcast around the world. But perhaps
Alec Baldwin is going to be the long-term beneficiary of his unfortunate
misstep. My thought: we may be ignoring the real reasons behind his angst;
he had to endure a Norma Desmond moment from his former wife Kim Basinger.
Over the years I have casually followed the Baldwin-Basinger divorce. And
no, for this column I did not go back and do extensive research on the
minutiae of what happened and when. It was/is a divorce. Two big egos
battling for their child.
And yet, I think in the long run society will cast a more sympathetic eye
on Baldwin.
First, here is a man whose career is on the rebound (busy, busy, busy),
and who nevertheless religiously and meticulously makes time to call his
daughter. He is to be commended for struggling to stay in his daughter's
life. His outburst was prompted by the extreme frustration he felt because
his daughter was ignoring his efforts to keep in close contact.
Some day, long after this latest episode has blown over and is forgotten,
Mr. Baldwin's daughter will feel sad about the way she treated her dad
when he was struggling to stay in touch. Ross Werland made this point in
the Chicago Tribune (April 20) when he noted, "a lot of non-custodial
parents sure know what he's feeling."
After all, in most divorces there are two parents, a custodial parent and
a non-custodial parent. Divorce lore is littered with episodes of
harassment by the custodial parent, which results in tragedy inflicted as
revenge by the non-custodial parent.
At least half of the divorced population will sympathize with Baldwin.
Here is a man struggling to stay in touch with his daughter-just as she's
on the cusp of an age where she will need "dad" more than everand he is
being blown off by daughter and vengeful mother.
No one can condone Mr. Baldwin's outburst. It was unfortunate. But, as
Jesus might remind us, all of you perfect people round up your stones and
get in line.
So, if this was merely another round in a custody dispute we wouldn't be
writing. This newspaper, after all, is called Contrariran
("non-custodial?) Commentary.com.
No, what I found interesting, and obviously ignored by the national press,
was the Norma Desmond aspects of this parental slap shot.
"Norma Desmond" is the star of the movie "Sunset Boulevard."
By all evidence, Baldwin's career is doing fine. His TV show has been
renewed; he's in the movies. He is aging gracefully.
Kim Basinger may not be doing so well. She's still making movies but her
career is not "talked about." She is in slow decline. And so, she
unleashes what I call her Norma Desmond moment.
Everyone agrees Baldwin should have been more tactful with his daughter.
No one should speak that way to his or her child. But he has obviously
experienced extreme and continuing provocation. And he didn't leak the
tape to the world's media, Kim Basinger did.
Her Norma Desmond moment.
Baldwin might be doing well, but she might not be doing quite as well. She
wanted to remind Alec that "I am [still] big. It's the pictures that got
small." In other words, even as his star rises and her star declines or
remains steady, she is still in a position to cause emotional chaos for
Baldwin with his daughter. This is a very common kind of divorce tactic.
You see it all the time. Rising parent harassed by the declining parent.
Greed and revenge at their rawest.
But Basinger's slap shot may be a dirty trick that backfires. Clearly, the
leaker of the tape put the emotion welfare of daughter second and revenge
foremost.
Unlike the poor, unemployed, usually minority group schlub who is being
pummeled by the federal and state government because his ex-wife wants
revenge in divorce court, Baldwin has the resources to fight back and
strike back. Thus, taking a shot at him might make the leaker feel good in
the short run, but it is sure to cause a headache in the long run.
And so, while Kim Basinger might have had her moment or moments of Norma
Desmond satisfaction when Baldwin was embarrassed around the world, in the
long run she may be the real loser.
She received bad advice, and she acted on bad advice.
A slap shot that may end up slapping her in the face. |

Basinger: 'I'm Protecting My Daughter
from Media'
HOLLYWOOD - Kim Basinger has confirmed reports she hired a security
guard to protect her daughter from the media following her ex-husband Alec
Baldwin's recent phone tirade against the youngster.
The Oscar-winning actress stepped up security around her Los Angeles home
after Baldwin called 11-year-old daughter Ireland a "rude, thoughtless
little pig" during a recorded telephone conversation.
The actor has been criticized by film fans after the conversation was
leaked on the Internet. He has apologized publicly and in private to his
daughter.
A spokeswoman for Basinger denies the actress released the voicemail
recording to the media, but confirmed the star had stepped up security.
She says, "Kim did hire security in response to the media attention on her
daughter in order to allow Ireland to maintain her regular routine and
activities uninterrupted."
The spokeswoman adds Basinger hopes Baldwin would "finally address his
unstable and irrational behavior so he, at some point, can potentially
create a relationship with his daughter." |

Alec Baldwin Voice Mail Tape Causes
Kim Basinger to Hire Bodyguard
Alec Baldwin apologized for the berating voice mail tape that he left
for his 11-year-old daughter; and his attorney filed a court order to
figure out how it wound up in the hands of TMZ.Com. The drama continues
and ex-wife Kim Basinger is now on the offensive as it has now been
revealed that she has hired a bodyguard to protect her and her daughter
Ireland.
Alec Baldwin Voice Mail Tape Causes Kim Basinger to Hire Bodyguard
The actress is said to have arranged 24-hour cover for Ireland after her
father labeled the 11-year-old a "thoughtless little pig" on the
voicemail, which has now been played over and over on nearly every media
outlet courtesy of the newsroom at TMZ.
According to 'This is London' mother and daughter were seen in Los Angeles
over the weekend - accompanied by the burly security man. Star Magazine
notes that Ireland is now being protected by 24-hour security after her
foul-mouthed father exploded on her in a voice mail message on April 11
when she didn't answer the phone to talk to him, according to the New York
Post.
A huge bodyguard was spotted with Ireland and her mom Kim Basinger near
their Los Angeles home this weekend. An assistant to Basinger told the New
York Post that they had 24-hour security "because of this thing with
Alec."
Is Kim being a drama queen? Probably. His spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, said
Baldwin will obey the judge's orders and that "Alec truly cares about the
best interests of his daughter," he said.
But a source close to the film and TV star told the New York Post that
Ireland needs protection from her mother. "This is a desperate plea for
sympathy when the only danger to the child is inside her own home," said
the source, who accused Basinger of leaking the tape. "What kind of parent
leaks a voicemail that causes her daughter significant embarrassment and
unneeded attention?" the source said, according to the Star report. |

Alec Baldwin Daughter Ireland: Dad's
Phone Tape Message Dubs Her a Pig
An enraged sounding Alec Baldwin unleashed a volcanic tirade of
threats and insults on his 11-year-old daughter, Ireland, calling her a
"thoughtless little pig," and bashing her mother Kim Basinger on a taped
telephone phone message. The newsroom at TMZ.Com has now placed the taped
message online and managing editor Harvey Levin says that they obtained
the message 'legally.'
Alec Baldwin Daughter Ireland Called a Thoughtless Little Pig by Alec
Baldwin's lawyer, Viki Roberts, told TMZ.com, "Whatever happened yesterday
was sealed and confidential. What you're telling me you've got you
shouldn't have." And now his spokesperson claims his ex-wife Kim Basinger
leaked the tape to the media.
No matter it is out there and Baldwin sounds awful and is under heavy
critisism. Here is a transcript of the phone rant:
Alec: "Hey, I want to tell you something, OK? And I want to leave a
message for you right now. 'Cause again, it's 10:30 here in New York on a
Wednesday, and once again I've made an ass of myself trying to get to a
phone to call you at a specific time. When the time comes for me to make
the phone call, I stop whatever I'm doing and I go and I make that phone
call. At 11 o'clock in the morning in New York and if you don't pick up
the phone at 10 o'clock at night. And you don't even have the expletive
phone turned on. I want you to know something, OK?"
"I'm tired of playing this game with you. I'm leaving this message with
you to tell you you have insulted me for the last time. You have insulted
me. You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being. I don't
give a damn that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a
child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't
care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for
the last time with this phone."
"And when I come out there next week, I'm going to fly out there for the
day just to straighten you out on this issue. I'm going to let you know
just how disappointed in you I am and how angry I am with you that you've
done this to me again. You've made me feel like s --- and you've made me
feel like a fool over and over and over again. And this crap you pull on
me with this expletive phone situation that you would never dream of doing
to your mother and you do it to me constantly and over and over again. I
am going to get on a plane and I am going to come out there for the day
and I am going to straighten your ass out when I see you."
"Do you understand me? I'm going to really make sure you get it. Then I'm
going to get on a plane and I'm going to turn around and come home. So
you'd better be ready Friday the 20th to meet with me. So I'm going to let
you know just how I feel about what a rude little pig you really are. You
are a rude, thoughtless little pig, OK?" |

BALDWIN POSTS RANT EXPLANATION ONLINE
LATEST: Actor ALEC BALDWIN has posted an apology online, explaining
that his leaked answer machine rant was the result of being "driven to the
edge" by his bitter custody battle with ex-wife KIM BASINGER.
The Departed star was today (21Apr07) reported to be taking legal action
to find out who was responsibly for the leaked three-minute recording to
TMZ.com, in which he verbally chastised his 11-year-old daughter Ireland,
and called Basinger "a thoughtless pain in the a*s".
But in a posting on his official website, Baldwin blames the L.A.
Confidential actress for "alienating" him from his parenting duties, which
propelled him to lose his temper.
He says, "Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too
much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most
saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a
child.
"I'm sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with
my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many
years now...
"I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a court order
was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case." |

Baldwin's lawyer threatens legal
action over tape
LOS ANGELES – An attorney for Alec Baldwin threatened legal action
Friday against a celebrity Web site that posted a ranting voicemail
message the actor left for his 11-year-old daughter.
The festering bad blood between movie-star exes Alec Baldwin and Kim
Basinger erupts when an angry expletive-filled phone message from Baldwin
to his 11-year-old daughter is made public.
Media Player
In court papers filed Friday, attorney Vicki J. Greene also asked Los
Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Maren E. Nelson to consider taking
action against Baldwin's ex-wife, Kim Basinger, and her lawyers, Neal R.
Hersh and Judy Bogen. Greene claims they should be found in contempt of
court if they were responsible for violating an order Nelson issued
Wednesday sealing the tape.
Greene's papers ask for a court order directing Harvey Levin of the
celebrity Web site TMZ.com to be present for a hearing June 5 along with
Hersh and Bogen.
Levin was not immediately available for comment, but told CNN Friday
morning that the tape was obtained legally. A posting on the TMZ.com Web
site also said the company does not comment on how it obtains information.
In the voicemail message, Baldwin calls his daughter Ireland a “rude
little pig” and threatens to “straighten your (expletive) out” for missing
a scheduled phone call.
Levin called Greene yesterday and told her of his intention to publish the
tape on the TMZ.com Web site, but did not say how he obtained it,
according to Greene's court papers.
Greene told Levin that the tape had to have come from an improper source
and that the discussions about it occurred during a closed court session,
her papers stated.
“I urged Mr. Levin not to go public with the tape-recorded message and
that the dissemination of what he claimed to have could result in
(Baldwin) taking legal action against him or TMZ.com,” Greene stated in
her court papers.
In a copy of a letter dated yesterday and attached to Greene's petition,
she was unequivocal about Baldwin's intention to sue Levin and
Glendale-based TMZ.com if the tape was released.
“Please be advised that if you choose to ignore my admonition, Alec fully
intends to take legal action to protect his daughter's rights and the
court order,” Greene stated.
Baldwin issued a statement on his Web site today apologizing for the
voicemail message, blaming it on the stress over the custody battle with
Basinger.
“I'm sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with
my child,” Baldwin stated.
Also posted on the TMZ.com Web site was a statement from Hersh in which he
criticizes Baldwin for shifting blame for his problems with Ireland to
Basinger and her lawyers. Hersh also states the “30 Rock” actor is “out of
touch ... with reality.”
Basinger still faces a possible hearing on a dozen misdemeanor counts of
criminal contempt for allegedly disobeying court orders concerning
Baldwin's visitation time with Ireland. Nelson on Wednesday denied a
motion by Basinger's lawyers to dismiss the charges. |

Kim Basinger feud with Alec Baldwin
escalates over voicemail
Alec Baldwin called his 11-year-old daughter a "rude, thoughtless
little pig" when she failed to answer the phone to him.
The actor had phoned his daughter Ireland for a pre-scheduled conversation
- as part of his custody arrangements - and was so angered when she did
not answer he left a scathing voicemail message.
His ex-wife Kim Basinger, Ireland's mother, allegedly leaked the rude
message to the media. In the message, dating from April 11, which gossip
website TMZ.com posted yesterday (19.04.07), Alec also rants: "I made an
a*s out of myself trying to make this call. You have insulted me for the
last time. You don't have
the brains or the decency as a human being.
"You've made me feel like a fool over and over and over again. I'm gonna
straighten you're a*s out when I see you, do you understand me?"
TMZ.com also reported that a judge had heard the tape and "temporarily
suspended" Alec's visitation rights.
The actor's spokesperson hit back claiming Kim had violated court
agreements by leaking the message.
He said: "In the best interest of the child, Alec will do what the mother
is pathologically incapable of doing - keeping his mouth shut and obeying
the court order.
"The mother and her lawyer leaked this sealed material in violation of a
court order. Although Alec acknowledges that he should have used different
language in parenting his child, everyone who knows him privately knows
what he has been put through for the past six years."
Two years ago, Alec endured a lengthy and bitter court battle to gain
extra visitation rights and access to his daughter. The star branded his
ex-wife Kim a "child snatcher", because she reportedly failed to allow him
enough time with their child and broke custody agreements.
The '8 Mile' actress already faces contempt charges, dating from last
year, for disobeying court orders relating to their custody arrangements.
Alec is said to have called Ireland not long after to apologise for his
outburst. |

colpisce in continuazioné.
‘Devo ammettere che ho un debole per Kim Basinger — ha aggiunto — Ed Eva
Longoria ha un sedere fantastico’. Douglas e la Jones si sono sposati nel
2000 con una lussuosa cerimonia al Plaza Hotel di New York: le foto del
loro matrimonio furono vendute in esclusiva al magazine OK! , che le pagò
quasi un milione e mezzo di euro. La coppia ha due figli: Dylan, di sei
anni, e Carys, di tre. |

BASINGER SIGNS DEAL AS FACE OF
SKINCARE GIANT
Actress KIM BASINGER has landed a modelling deal as the face of
Lancaster skincare. The 53-year-old will front the "anti-ageing expert"
line for cosmetics giant Coty, reports website TMZ.com. Basinger yesterday
(24Apr07) confirmed reports she hired a security guard to protect her
11-year-old daughter from the media following her ex-husband Alec
Baldwin's recent phone tirade against the youngster. |

Kim Basinger Saves Face
In the wake of Alec Baldwin's threatening message to his "thoughtless
little pig"/daughter Ireland, his "pain in the ass" ex-wife Kim Basinger
just scored a fat new modeling deal with beauty giant, Coty. That's gotta
hurt.
The 53-year-old will represent the Lancaster skincare line, which calls
itself the "anti-ageing expert," in their new ad campaigns worldwide,
except in the United States. Doh! Basinger's new gig brings her back to
her cover girl roots, as the former Breck girl was a Ford model in the
70s. |

Kim Basinger Fires Back at Alec
Baldwin
Alec Baldwin’s ex Kim Basinger is finally firing back, publicly
addressing the now infamous voicemail that Alec left their daughter,
Ireland.
In a statement to “Extra,” Kim made it known that she wants Alec to
“finally address his unstable and irrational behavior.”
Basinger also claimed she “did not release the voicemail,” but pointed
out, “The voicemail was not sealed under a court order.”
As the already ugly divorce gets uglier, “Extra” sought the observation of
David Crausman, director of clinical psychotherapy at LA.’s Center for
Healthful Living, and he revealed he’s most worried about the couple’s
11-year-old daughter.
"Both Alec and Kim have gone at each other using their daughter as a pawn
for power. It leaves Ireland in the middle,” Crausman said. “[Ireland’s]
left alone and probably doesn't know how to cope with the intensity of the
feelings on both sides."
Just last year, Kim told our own Dayna Devon what she is teaching Ireland
about coping with life in a fishbowl.
“You will see this stuff, you will read this stuff, you will hear this
stuff at school; but in the end, it will be your truth that matters,” Kim
said.
As Hollywood’s messiest divorce continues the mudslinging, the stars are
stepping up to defend Alec… including “Dancing with the Stars” alum Joey
Lawrence.
“He's a pretty excitable guy, as history has it,” Lawrence said. “So when
anything like this comes up, unfortunately, he doesn't get the benefit of
the doubt.”
Baldwin also has a fan in Sarah Michelle Gellar, his co-star in his new
movie “Suburban Girl.”
"He's incredible,” she said. “He's an actor that I've admired for so
long.” |

Basinger denies leaking rant, gets
contract
Kim Bssinger It took several news cycles of her ex-husband roasting on
the public spit, but Kim Basinger finally got around to denying that she
leaked Alec Baldwin's angry voice mail to their daughter, Ireland.
"Kim Basinger did not release the voice mail," said a statement released
Monday by her publicist, Annett Wolf. "Additionally, the voice mail was
not sealed under a court order." (Interesting asterisk, that.)
The statement dug Mr. Baldwin's hole a little deeper, calling on him to
"finally address his unstable and irrational behavior."
In sunnier Basinger household news, the actress has landed a modeling deal
with Coty, to represent the Lancaster skin-care line worldwide.

Is Basinger to blame for Alec's angry
call?
Actress faces citations for interfering with child’s relationship with
Baldwin
Blame Baldwin or Basinger?
Most everyone agrees that Alec Baldwin went over the edge in his taped
tirade to his 11-year-old daughter, Ireland. But what about the role
played by his ex-wife, Kim Basinger?
“She is being held and charged with contempt for interfering with the
child’s relationship with the father — 12 contempt citations. The judge
has to act on those,” former prosecutor and judge Jeanine Pirro told Matt
Lauer on TODAY.
Basinger’s role in the release of the taped telephone message has yet to
be revealed. While Baldwin has very publicly apologized for what he said —
he even offered to quit his role on NBC’s “30 Rock” — Basinger has given
no interviews. Her only statements have been issued through a spokesman,
who has said that she approved of the release of the tapes, but did not
say whether she was the one who gave them to the celebrity Internet site,
TMZ.com.
“Releasing the tape is much more harmful than what Alec said,” said
Jeffrey Leving, a lawyer and divorced father who founded dadsrights.com to
defend the custody rights of fathers.
“I’ve said things to my own daughter I regret,” he told Lauer. “If every
dad in American lost his relationship with his child because he lost this
temper, every dad in America would have no contact with his child.
Releasing that information and putting the child in the middle of that
conflict is outrageous, because we have to focus on the rights of that
child.”
If the tape, which was also delivered to the court, was supposed to be
sealed, Leving added, “as an attorney, I’d be seeking jail time” for
Basinger.
TODAY has been flooded with e-mails about the ugly drama of domestic
discord, with many correspondents — women as well as men — defending
Baldwin.
“I'm sure everybody has had moments of saying stuff they regret, and if we
went around taping everybody, every parent has probably had those
moments,” Paria Hassouri, a mother, told NBC.
Baldwin v. Basinger
What makes this different, Lauer observed, is that it did not involve an
anonymous family’s private affairs but a celebrity couple’s very public
and very long-running divorce and custody fight.
Pirro said the courts have to step in and protect the innocent victims.
“You make sure that neither parent releases something like this because
I’m not sure if it’s more harmful to her what Alec said to her, or whoever
released the tape and the impact that now she’s being held up to public
ridicule,” she said.
“She will never recover from what her father said, and so publicly,”
clinical psychologist Judy Kuriansky said in a taped interview.
Live with Lauer, another clinical psychologist, Suzanne Braniecki, focused
on the fact that the divorce and continuing war between the former spouses
has consumed most of Ireland’s life.
“They both have a part in this,” she said. “The marriage ended in 2000.
It’s 2007 now,” she said. “The marriage ended at a critical time in her
life, between the ages of three and five. That’s a critical time for
parenting and attachment issues.”
Pirro, the former judge, said the Los Angeles courts that are handling the
case have to act. Baldwin’s outburst, prompted by Ireland not answering a
scheduled phone call, did not come out of the blue, as he has said, adding
that he was wrong to take it out on his daughter.
“If the issue is parental alienation, then what the court has to do is
monitor it even closer to make sure the mother isn’t keeping this child
from receiving or accepting the calls,” said Pirro.
Baldwin should seek help
It has so affected Baldwin that he said he “couldn’t care less” about
continuing his acting career. His offer to quit “30 Rock,” he said, was
made because he didn’t want the affair to harm the show and his fellow
cast members. NBC asked him to stay.
He is also writing a book on alienation of children in divorce cases.
Leving said if Baldwin were his client, he’d advise getting anger
management counseling. The actor is known for his temper, which, his
brother Billy has said, manifests itself only in matters deeply important
to Alec, such as his family.
Meanwhile, the wheels of justice, engaged for seven years now, continue to
grind slowly on as the battle continues.
“It affects the children every day and it affects the parents,” said
Braniecki. “It’s an ongoing trauma.” |

Basinger Denies Leaking Baldwin's
Phone Freak-Out
Kim Basinger seems to feel that Alec Baldwin has only himself to blame
for the mess he's in. He certainly can't blame her, anyway.
The Oscar-winning actress denies leaking the angry voicemail Baldwin left
for daughter Ireland almost two weeks ago after the child supposedly
missed one of his scheduled calls, Basinger's rep, Annett Wolf, said in a
statement Monday. The recording ended up posted on TMZ.com last week.
Baldwin's attorney, Vicki Greene, immediately filed court documents Friday
looking to get to the bottom of the situation, and penned a letter to TMZ
editor-in-chief Harvey Levin warning him against republishing the
material. Baldwin's spokesman, meanwhile, said that "the mother and her
lawyer leaked this sealed material in violation of a court order."
Denying that the message, in which Baldwin calls his 11-year-old daughter
a "rude, thoughtless pig" and threatens to "straighten [her] out," was
sealed by the court. Basinger's rep said that the issue at hand is "not
about Kim or the alleged alienation that Alec constantly refers to. It is
about his ongoing aggressive behavior."
Last fall, Baldwin accused Basinger of trying to keep their child away and
turn her against him. The actor, whom Basinger has alleged has major
emotional problems, was ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation
before the court would grant him more phone calls and visits with his
daughter.
Basinger is also facing a dozen misdemeanor contempt charges for allegedly
making Ireland unavailable for outings with her dad and otherwise
violating the court's order to comply with the agreed-upon visitation
schedule.
"Kim's sincerest wish is for him to finally address his unstable and
irrational behavior so he, at some point, can potentially create a
relationship with his daughter," Wolf's statement continues. "Until then,
Kim will continue to protect and safeguard her child's well-being as any
parent would."
Wolf also announced that Basinger "did hire security in response to the
media attention on her daughter in order to allow Ireland to maintain her
regular routine and activities uninterrupted."
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Maren Nelson, who has been
overseeing this increasingly nasty custody battle for the past two years,
has ordered Baldwin to stay away from Ireland pending a May 4 hearing.
The 30 Rock star has since apologized, both in a phone call to his
daughter and publicly via his Website, writing, "I am most saddened that
this was released to the media because of what it does to a child. I'm
sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my
child."
Baldwin's lawyer, Vicki Greene, told People that the recording "had to
have been released by someone from Kim's side" and reiterated that the
tape was, in fact, off limits.
"We don't agree with Kim's position," Greene said. "This court has sealed
proceedings for Ireland's protection for years. Why would this recording
be any different? I'm not even allowed to say whether the tape was played
in court or not. They are breaking the confidentiality rules."
Kim Basinger Gets Bodyguard For Daughter Over Baldwin’s Phone Threat
Actress Kim Basinger, Alec Baldwin’s former wife, reportedly hired a
personal security officer for their 11-year-old daughter, following the
threats of her father on a leaked answering machine tape.
In the middle of an ongoing custody battle for the estranged couple’s
daughter, Ireland, a very angry Baldwin left a voice message in which he
called her a "rude, thoughtless little pig," and reprimanded her for
having insulted and humiliated him. The tape contains curses and threats
to "straight [her] a** out" on his next visit.
After Baldwin’s message was made public last week, Kim Basinger released a
statement through her spokeswoman rejecting Baldwin’s claims that she had
something to do with the leaking of the tape. She also said the recording
was "not sealed under a court order."
"Kim did hire security in response to the media attention on her daughter
in order to allow Ireland to maintain her regular routine and activities
uninterrupted," Wolf said.
Basinger, who is facing trial on 12 misdemeanor counts of criminal
contempt for allegedly disregarding court orders concerning Baldwin's
visitation rights, asked her ex-husband to “finally address his unstable
and irrational behavior” in an attempt to save what’s left of his
relationship with his daughter.
"Kim's sincerest wish is for him to finally address his unstable and
irrational behavior so he, at some point, can potentially create a
relationship with his daughter," the statement said.
"Until then, Kim will continue to protect and safeguard her child's
well-being as any parent would."
"Everybody is always asking why this custody battle has been going on for
so many years and now they have the answer," the statement added.
"The issue is not about Kim or the alleged alienation that Alec constantly
refers to. It is about his ongoing aggressive behavior."
Not long after the audiotape was released on celebrity site TMZ.com,
Baldwin subsequently issued an apology, showing remorse over the incident
as well as some finger pointing to Basinger for leaking it.
"Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as
all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that
this was released to the media because of what it does to a child," he
wrote.
"I’m sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with
my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many
years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you
never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a
court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in
this case."
TMZ.com also reported that a Los Angeles County Superior Court
commissioner temporarily suspended Baldwin's visitation rights last week
after hearing the tape.
In the meantime, rather unexpectedly, Paul McCartney’s estranged wife,
Heather Mills, has showed her support for Baldwin saying: "It is wrong to
speak to your daughter like that, but I am not someone to go, 'Ooh, that
is terrible, and we are all perfect, it's all wonderful.'
"I would never speak to my daughter like that, but what you have got to
remember is that his daughter lives with Kim, and we have no idea what
goes on behind closed doors. I respect Kim, I respect Alec for his
incredible animal rights campaigning, and we have no idea what's going on.
"You know when you love somebody and it is your only child, people lose
it. Forgive him. Don't throw stones at glass houses. We are not here to
judge and criticize what other people do unless you are a saint. And none
of us are a saint," Mills said. |

Alec Baldwin Voicemail Tape Message:
Don't Blame Me Says Kim Basinger
The wild voicemail message from Alec Baldwin to his daughter Ireland
that was leaked to the newsroom at Celebrity website TMZ.Com didn't come
from Kim Basinger. At least that is the story she is putting out. The
Oscar winning actress denies she leaked a voice mail in which her
ex-husband, Alec Baldwin, calls their 11-year-old daughter a "rude,
thoughtless little pig."
Alec Baldwin Voicemail Tape Message: Don't Blame Me Says Kim Basinger
Cue the rep™: "Kim Basinger did not release the voice mail. Additionally,
the voice mail was not sealed under a court order," the actress's
publicist,
The whole episode started when Baldwin left a voice mail lambasting his
daughter, Ireland, for failing to answer the telephone for a prearranged
call.
The tape was aired by TMZ on Thursday and made headlines around the world,
the Associated Press reports. A Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner
ordered Baldwin to stay away from his daughter pending a May 4 hearing.
Baldwin, who has been locked in a custody dispute with Basinger since
their 2002 divorce, blamed her for the leak on Friday. He also apologized
on his own Web site for "losing my temper with my child." |

Alec Baldwin drops longtime agents
for "strictly for personal reasons"
Alec Baldwin and his longtime agents have parted company, a spokesman
for the Los Angeles-based Creative Artists Agency said.
A reason for the split was not given, but Baldwin publicist Matthew
Hiltzik told E! News the award-winning actor made the move "strictly for
personal reasons. It has absolutely nothing to do with his extremely
talented agents who've done great work with Alec."
CAA also represents Baldwin's ex-wife, Kim Basinger. The couple's
acrimonious custody battle for their 11-year-old daughter, Ireland, made
headlines recently when a recording of an angry, profanity-riddled voice
mail Baldwin left for their daughter was leaked.
Baldwin signed with CAA in 2002. Since then he's been nominated for an
Oscar for "The Cooler," and earned both a Golden Globe and an SAG Award
for his work on NBC's "30 Rock." He has appeared on the big and small
screen, and has visited "Saturday Night Live" at least six times either as
a host or in a cameo role.
Basinger, who won an Oscar for her role in "L.A. Confidential," is the new
face of a global -- except in the United States -- print campaign for
Coty's Lancaster skincare line, Women's Wear Daily reports. |
